Hello, I've come across a new financial institution, "SL National Bank". It's located at Miru (235, 215, 33). It seems to be an exact carbon copy of Ginko Financial, except with a much higher interest rate of 0.31% per day. They even have a lottery that you can buy tickets for on their website. Has anyone tried this yet? If so what has your experience been? I deposited L$100 over a week ago and have yet to get any interest. I think I should have earned around L$2 or L$3 by now. Has anyone else been getting paid on their deposits?

I started an account at SLNB.
It really does pay out and I withdrew L$500+ at one time, and got it instantly. I talked with the owner, David Goldberg I believe and he mentioned that he is planning on putting more ATMs in-world and maybe even start a stock exchange.
I chose SLNB over Ginko Fin.

So if you DON"T ahve it posted, then you might have to have a minium balance of 1000L a day required to get paid, because their might be some thing in the terms about no honoring payments payments under 1L, Real banks do this constantly..

I appologize to all of you who haven't been receiving interest. Because of an error with the decimals, only people with atleast ~400 linden in their account will see any interest. I am working on this problem, and it should be fixed tonight. I will post again once fixed. Once again, I appologize.

A daily interest rate .31% would more than triple your initial investment in a year. How does "SL National Bank" propose to pay such a high rate of return?

I think we all know the answer to that. The day I origionally deposited I IMed the owner applauding his excellent ROI and asking for a prospectus. He didn't even respond to me. It should be good while it lasts though, no? This one seems to be brand new.

I am an associate of that business and must say Mr Altman that it does not appear you are posting here to seek information, but rather to cause trouble. I would have thought you were a more respectable business person. Your accusation makes clear your intention.

When making my RL investments, I like to have background information that show by what means the return is generated. I wonder when, if ever, they will be providing this information to potential investors?

A competitor to Ginko? Which begs the question: will Ginko respond with higher rates, or face a run on reserves? SL is *definitely* providing entertainment on a level I had never thought possible. Yet - if there are incredibly profitable financial engines out there - certainly, there must be some that are even *more* powerful than those previously discovered. *lights a cigar in honour of the new business* Good luck to all.

Anyone visiting this location in order to use this ATM ( or for that matter ANY ATM belonging to ANY organisation ANYWHERE in SL), be very careful! There is an AV called Teddy Popinjay hanging about who will offer you an 'ATM' card. Take it and it asks permission to take money from you - and - despite this lowlife's assurances to the contrary - it does! I refused it, my friend didn't and got taken for L$1010. Then this guy sits down and taunts her about how he's some sort of 'top predator'... And, please, yes - I know about naming names, and an incident like this shows just what a stupid rule it is. People need to be warned. People also need to be a lot less trusting. AND, I want to make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR that no blame whatsoever in this incident attaches to SL National Bank or it's staff. This lowlife was simply an opportunist taking advantage of the increase in traffic at the location in question caused by the original post in this thread.
He probably spends most of his time in SL hanging around various ATMs plying his scam - the fact that we met him there is purely coincidental.

Maybe they invest in small plots of land, subdivide them into 16m plots, put up offensive rotating signs and set the plot for sale at outrageous prices... that would generate a big ROI....

It boggles my mind why anyone would give an "ATM Card" provided by a stranger permission to debit their money.

My friend DID AR him, and spoke to Lindens. If he's truly gone - good riddance - and it's the first example of positive and timely action by LL in a matter of this sort I'v ever seen! PS - and the miserable bastard DID exist, I sat there and listened to his taunting crap!

That is what the Find box will show for a cancelled or banned account. I'm not necessarily saying that's what happened. And if the reportage is true, this does not mean that there will not be another avatar offering the same. To say "a fool and his lindens will soon be parted" is a little facile. "This Object requests permission to animate your avatar" and "This Object requests permission to debit your account" (or whatever the dialog says) are not bleedingly obvious in their effects to someone getting bombarded by SL for the first time.

This wasn't a noob... she should have known better, luckily the money doesn't matter.
As for Find, I've been looking up LOTS of people lately, not people likely to have been banned or suspended, and a surprising number just don't show up. Sometimes if you look up a surname the list quits at 'D' in the Forenames - which seems unlikely. Sadly Find, like much of SL is cranky at its best...
Although this was a pretty outrageous scam, and the gloating makes it impossible to play the 'I'm just a noob, it was all a mistake' card, I'd be very surprised if Linden 'Justice' was that fast and appropriate - and of course it's almost certainly an Alt anyway - so watch out!
