Agreed on the ways being lame. I'm glad they're gone, but newbies don't know anything but what they've experianced. Time to teach them right now.

"Get a grip. Not everyone is rich in RL."

In a world where one billion people do not have access to clean water (yes, this is true), anyone with a computer and internet access is rich.

I don't know if this will help or if it is quick, but there is a company in SL that posts jobs available. You may have seen it. But if not, look for the "Job Finder Hubs." You can find one at my office (out in front of Langdon Realty) in Albion (182, 244,70). This job posting company is relatively new but there are several job postings as of today. Hub discription: Look for the blue circle with a yellow (i) in the middle of the circle. I have also seen these hubs in other locations around the SL world.

Good Luck in your search for work ;)

The main problem with that theory is most jobs in SL are club jobs. With dwell now gone I am sure a lot of those will be closing thier doors or charging a cover charge to get by. Also most of them do not pay but workers get tips only with most of them taking a cut of thier employees' tips ( another thing that will probably increase with dwell gone). Really to speak of there are no paying jobs in SL except for creating content and the only real market for those is to newer folks since anyone who spends about a half hour learning can make things. There's a ton of competition in the market on anything although skins, clothing, hair seem to move pretty well still. Anything else is hit and miss and usually you're highly lucky to break even. Personally your best bet is buy what you need up front, get land and a house if you want one, some cheap but nice furnishings and not worry about fancy clothes or avatars, jsut be normal, and find some ppl you like and places you like to go. And before anyone screams about this post saying I am advising someone to freeload, stop and think about it. those clubs that do employ ppl without pay, and BTW you are in the majority, are freeloaders yourself living it up of proceeds from the free and sometimes paid for hard labor you have. ESPECIALLY if you are dipping into the tips THEY work for. Let's put the shoe where it fits and not on those who come to the same conclusion I have, that there is no way to make it in SL selling content except clothing etc. Or if you are like certain nameless individuals who go out and collect freebies to sell for high dollar to unsuspecting newbies.

"How do I get paid without working?"

Trying to figure out how to get Lindens without doing any work for them is sad. Instead, try figure out how to make real-money without doing any work. Then you have your RL needs taken care of AND money for the Lindex!

So dwells gone now or almost gone.. Quicki casino shut down there camping chairs along with a host of other places. So how the hell are we supposed to make l$ dollers now not all of us have the time to work a club,or make models to sell. not all of us can affod 10 bucks a month for a premium account especly with the rumors of stipends going away. so how the heck is a poor Sl resident supposed to earn some quick lindens now.

Just complain loud enough... I'm sure the LL printing presses will accomodate. Whats another few million L$ when you're running a L$60,000,000.00 deficit per month, anyway?

Spend some fucking money on the Lindex, make or do something that people want to buy, build your own stuff, use freebies, or piss off.

I'd figure prostitution could be up there with "content creation", and you're quite likely to see more people getting involved in it. As far as 'half hour of learning' allowing one to make things goes... it'll teach you how to rez a prim and upload a texture, but i don't think one can gain actual talent to make anything of acceptable quality this fast. Or there would be way less demand for artists in RL, too...

"How do I get paid without working?"

That was the short "stab-bie" version, wasn't expecting any response at all. :)

Longer version:
"How do I get paid without putting in any effort?
I'm used to getting paid sitting in camping chairs while chatting with my fellow zombies, or let the no-idle macro run while I sleep, but that is drying up.
I have no skills and I don't want to learn, I don't need people telling me I don't know nothing.
Grunt works are for suckas, I don't need people bossing me around telling me what to do just to earn $L.
I don't have the money to invest in island and work the Virtual real estate. Ha, if I have that kind of money I would have spent it, LMAO. Why would I want to use it to create more work? All the customer services, keeping an eye on the market... way too much work!"

Sounds familar?

I do not consider premium stipends entitlement: It's an annuality they paid for. (It's the way LL "prints" the $L I have problem wiht, but that's not for here)

So, how do you make $L in SL? Get a job, make content people want and sell them, invest, etc. You know... work for it. May be one can try writting a book:"Memor of a Camping-Chair Zombie" An unique SL experience
