So dwells gone now or almost gone.. Quicki casino shut down there camping chairs along with a host of other places. So how the hell are we supposed to make l$ dollers now not all of us have the time to work a club,or make models to sell. not all of us can affod 10 bucks a month for a premium account especly with the rumors of stipends going away. so how the heck is a poor Sl resident supposed to earn some quick lindens now.

poverty is a RL related problem, itsnot by fleeing in sl that it will magically vanish, there is no such thing as a free lunch and sooner or later someone must always pay the bill

Buy some Lindens off of Lindex. If you can't afford a few measly dollars a month, how are you affording a high-spec computer and a broadband internet connection?

There are no "poor" SL residents. There are only residents unwilling to pay for things.

If you're here for fun (as I am) then you really don't need a lot of L$. It's nice, but not needed.

YadNi's Junkyard has tons of freebies. Not junk as the name implies, but you do have to sort through it all. He has LOTS!

Though 10$ per month might not be feasable, you can always save up spare change (for example) and then drop that into SL to buy L$ as you're able.

And in any freetime in SL (if you have some, can I buy that? ^.^) you can create and possibly sell that creation. Even if it's only a few L$, it might be all you ever need.

Or you can simply build what you want/need as you go.

If you believe that there is a true need for camping chairs in Second Life, please buy some L$ on LindeX for a camping chair bankroll, and set up a camping chair parlor of your own.

i would like to point this post out to all the people who think that getting rid of dwell and stipends is a bad idea, as well as those who don't think LL has been subsidizing a large population of freeloaders at the expense of content creators.

And ignore people like those above.

Sheesh! He said "earn L$" not "be given L$".

And people budget to build computers and to have the internet. At least they realise when they can't go that next 10$ a month. Get a grip. Not everyone is rich in RL.

I don't know if this will help or if it is quick, but there is a company in SL that posts jobs available. You may have seen it. But if not, look for the "Job Finder Hubs." You can find one at my office (out in front of Langdon Realty) in Albion (182, 244,70). This job posting company is relatively new but there are several job postings as of today. Hub discription: Look for the blue circle with a yellow (i) in the middle of the circle. I have also seen these hubs in other locations around the SL world.

Spend some fucking money on the Lindex, make or do something that people want to buy, build your own stuff, use freebies, or piss off.

then do with the budget you have, when you want to buy a coke can if you dont have the money, you can whine all you want the machine isn't going to drop you one. If you can't afford to have everything you want , then make it so you can fit the stuffs you like in the budget you have.

sure i would like to have a giant plasma screen for watching movies at home but its a tad expensive for me, so i will stick to my old computer monitor.

Agreed on the ways being lame. I'm glad they're gone, but newbies don't know anything but what they've experianced. Time to teach them right now.

Speaking of getting a grip...

Do you budget for and buy a car then go whining to gas stations and insurance companies that you are not rich and unable to pay for the items needed to enjoy your product? Do you go into Starbucks asking for free coffee because you are not rich? Does the ticket taker at the cinema take pity on your sorry condition and allow you free admitance?

You do not need anything in SL. RL financial are irrelevant here for things bought with lindens are optional whims. Someone who has internet access and the the equipment to play SL whining about not being rich is totally out of touch with the everyday reality faced by countless numbers of people who "are not rich". Get a grip, a clue, and anything else that's needed to get perspective.

Check the events calendar for free events that you can win money.

All the events we run at the Shelter don't cost you a cent, and most of them have cash or item prizes that are donated by content creators.

If you are a new AV, feel free to camp out at my casino (camping chairs at the bar) for some free money. I share some of my sales profit with the newbies. If you are +6 months old, it's time you find something better to do than to hang around at camping chairs all day IMO, so you won't get any from me. SL is not a magic money machine! Be social, create something that people are willing to pay for, or use your credit card. There is no free ride in life. Not even in Second Life.

There is only one way to make real money here in the long run: Create stuff. And all you have to invest is the time to learn how. It's the best deal ever!

You mention not having the time to have a job. However, if you have time to sit in a camp chair to earn some Linden, you could use that same time to work as a host in a club or at a game venue to earn tips and perhaps a salary.

Well... there was one... but it was a con.

The one thing that I always remember when I think of money in SL is "why do I actually need it". Sure, it means I can buy someone else's product, but quite often I can make it myself. One of the teaching places like TeaZers run free classes that help you with most of the common things, and whilst my L$ budget is currently more than enough for my current needs, my play style is within what I can afford, and sure I can always get some money from Lindex if I need it.

Really... $5 is nothing. Even homeless beggars can make more money than that in a day.

It all depends how badly you want something. If you want it, you either save up to buy it (as I often do with my stipends), or do without.

There is no magic answer. If there was one, we'd all be doing it.

you don't need to be rich in RL to buy L$. the L$ has never been cheaper!

Fortunately, premium stipends are paid for and not entitlements. I work rt, and pay my premium fees so I -don't- have to have a secondlife job.
