In light of the fact that nothing can be accomplished on these forums, I propose a private in-world economic summit! The topic of this summit should be what WE as residents can do to come together and solve the economic problems facing our world, using our imaginations. Ideal solutions will include no need for participation, or at least very limited need for participation, on the part of Linden Lab. In other words, what should come out of these meetings are solid plans for economic systems which can be developed and implemented BY residents FOR residents. To join the summit, you do not need to agree with my viewpoints in any way, shape or form. You MUST, however, have demonstrated in the past that you do in fact care about the economic problems which face us as a community, and you must seem like someone who would be genuinely interested in WORKING towards a solution. Together we can solve the problems which plague our economy! If the above sounds like you, and you're interested in participating in a resident economic summit, you will ideally contact me privately in-world. It is also ok to reply here. If you're invited, you'll know sometime in advance of the summit.

As SL's Top Economic Mind and 2nd greatest Capitalistic Legend (Anshe Chung being #1) I have an obligation to the huddled masses to attend.
I accept your invitation and hope you will take the proper security precautions necessary when hosting a dignitary of state.

I don't pretend to be SL top economic mind, but I've always been interested in SL's economics. Count me in, pls.

Count me in! There's no better subject to brainstorm among those who are serious about, part of and affected by the SL economy. As with so many things RL and SL, the worst thing we can do is to do nothing.

Shaun
I tink its a brilliant idea. As you and many others know my business partner Sitearm Madonna and I are very much in favot of exploration and implementation of the new SL economy. Yes our world if frought with ecomonic perels right now that run the gamut from out of control currency devaluations to a seeming welfare state fro newies to the harsh realities of how we all will live and in fact pay for and support content drive events in the post DI economy. This is a time of great change and I thingk Shaun, you are right we have to grab the bull by the horns and face these economic challenges head on with out huge involvment from LL. They say and we say we are a resident driven content is king virtual world nows the time to prove it and solve these problems ourselves.
If you choose to invite me I would be honored to do my part

Ah! Brilliant idea! I'm going to hide as usual, and make things to sell. Any point I'd want to make is best illustrated by such action. Good luck!

If you're invited, you'll know sometime in advance of the summit. Are "visiting observers" welcome, too? I type much too slowly and have this annoying habit of waiting till the other guy is finished before I start to "talk". That makes it nearly impossible to participate in a typical inworld discussion. But I would love to be present and listen to what SLs economic masterminds have to say about current affairs.

If you have a work product ...

If you ever produce a written work product, I'd be interested in reading it.
I'm not interested in reading a raw transcript of proceedings, though.

I'm curious, sure. Count me in, though I dunno if I'll ever be able to take part.
Note I have some practical experience (though from its edges), working as a SysAdmin for systems involved in the RL sector.

It is also ok to reply here I cannot run SL from where I am now, but am interested in participating. Let me know if you need a venue or space as I have a new property that I'm developing. The property (a couple of 4096 plots) has only a few things on it now so this is a good time to use it for something like if you need clear space. -2fast
