I too work hard in Second Life - but because I do it for enjoyment, and to provide something for the community, are you trying to tell me that it's not work because I don't do it for profit?

Are you trying to tell me I shouldn't expect to get money I earned in a timely fashion? Because I should be grateful? Who do you think you are?

Believe me, I'm grateful that people even like my stuff and actually buy it. That's what I'm grateful for. I don't care what you do with whatever it is you do in SL -- but you obviously mind when people like me complain about not getting our honestly earned money on time.

Too late for me to try and explain pips & spread ( I need a full tank of coffee to understand it myself )

But it works quite well.

Let's turn it away from attacking me for a moment, and do you possibly think that all payments out have been halted, considering the password hack problem, and that someone may have tried to siphon out millions of L$ somehow?

Does that make it a less bitter pill to swallow?

Can you possibly understand that this isn't an isolated incident, but one that has been a point of contention for many content creators for months?

Please pull your head out of your ass and stop making assumptions. I don't feel "entitled", I feel like I should get my damn money on time.

Whatever.

If you treated Second Life like the computer game it is, rather than as an "income", then I'm quite sure you wouldn't be getting so stressed over it.

I like how you think everyone should subscribe to your points of view.

It's kind of sexy.

Lewis, why the fuck are you even interjecting yourself into this. It is not even an issue that affects you. You wonder why people think you are such an asshole - this is a perfect example of it.

Yeah, if it's a "Lewis" problem, like getting booted from the greeters group for being a dickwad.....it's a big whoopdeedoo about the little man being oppressed and we all have to endure the drama, yet when someone needs THEIR OWN MONEY to pay bills, it is dismissed as insignificant.

Typical.

In a real game like say Black Jack, how long does it take you to get paid if you win?

I think your problem is that you think it is a game and do not take things seriously. It's not a game. Think of it as a social environment. I have programmed games and know the difference.

This has been going on for a while and there is no good reason why they can not just pay out in 1 day or less. I think the main reason it is so slow is that as mentioned they do not want to automate the process and have little staff put to the task. With continued growth the situation is just going to get worst to the point where they may take another look at the way they do things now. My feeling is that they won't as it has been shown that it takes a major catastrophy to get them to change anything.

It seems that LL has open the Lindex with no real good planning and it has shown since the beginning. This is just another example of the incompetance of the people in charge of the situation.

Err Lewis - this is precisely the time when the payment system needs to be slick and on-time, because people are gonna start coming in at the weekend - read all the "hacked" problems and there is ( I suspect ) gonna be a huge rush on "get my money the hell outta there" process credit requests.

As for halting payments because of it - have you ever seen a bank fold ? They have a hitch, close the doors and instantly there is a riot of people saying give me my money - NOW - in the space of a weekend the bank no longer exists.

Linden need to show that it has been contained, money is not at risk, and it is business as usual ( better preferably )

Uh, for some people its a damn good chunk of income. If LL is offering this to us (Dont forget the fact many are paying 200 plus USD to LL a month)...they should get things to us on time.

Oh hey, im still waiting for my check. Neat.

That's pretty much how I feel. While most of us are 'grateful' for the opportunity to be able to make money from Second Life, it's a pretty rediculous thing to insinuate that we should somehow be more lenient on Linden Labs compared to any other company when it comes to actually PAYING us for the value we are providing to THEM. There are many reasons they are providing us these services in the first place, which include among them the fact that providing content for THEM enriches their product for virtually no cost to them. Our benefit is being able to count on Linden Labs to handle our direct transactions with customers as a convenience. In this respect, if I percieve Linden Labs as being SLooooooow, I have every right I can think of to complain, and I don't really need to listen to someone tell me I should somehow be 'grateful' for the opportunity, as if I'm some hobo soliciting a quarter at the front door of a bank.

Extremely well said Zodiakos!!

Maybe you forget the facts on that little issue.

I received a forum warning - which I don't know what I did, despite numerous emails and taking up personally with at least 4 Lindens. It seems odd that the fact of a warning was kept on record, yet the details were not, and nobody is able to tell me what I am supposed to have done.

But then again, you probably don't really care about facts, like many other people, and just continue to bash me for holding an opinion that you don't.

Not necessarily.

I too provide content - but I do it out of enjoyment, not looking at making a profit.

Having said that, the fact I was trying to make - and obviously overlooked - is that people don't have any right to complain because they think they are more important than others. Complaining that money isn't arriving - fine. Complaining because you think you're too important to have to wait as long as others - get your head out of your arse.

I processed a credit on Tuesday, it was finally paid out to my Paypal account late Friday, which is the longest it has ever taken for me.

On Slex I typically get money from PayPal in about 2 hours. The only transaction I had from Slex to PayPal was completed on the same day but I don't know the time as those two sites use different local times and it appears that I received the transaction 3 hours before it was sent. From LL to PayPal it is rare for me to get the money in less than 5 business days but I move a minium of $2000 to reduce the transaction cost.
