I think I worked out that I'd only need 16 PCs running four clients each to pay for my appartment ($600), bills ($150-$180), and still have about $1000 left over every month.

If one could supply 100 PCs running 4 clients with enough chairs (400 of them), which I think would require about 10 people just to keep the agents camping, and maybe a little of "I'm not a bot" chat, you could concievably make really good cash.

If I remember right when the "mmo gold miners" got here 2 years ago they are only expected to make $2 a day each out of second life. So It seems they could do a lot better than that.

*Laughs*
Every time someone mentions killing camping chairs I bring this up. I fully admit to being a "Chinese Gold Farmer."
Though unline a CGF I do wish to see the meathod of my income destroyed--afterall, it doesn't benifit the grid in any way.

I don't see how LL CAN do anything about camping chairs. They have no way to telling what is and is not a camping chair until they teleport in and see it. Same with weapons. You don't know it's a weapon till ya see it in action. Plus i don't think LL gets involved in affairs like this. or much of anything... >.>

...which is why I laugh at anyone who says, "X is going to kill camping."
I remember a time a year ago when I was told, "get yoru camping done, once they kill Dwell there won't be any more camping chairs." And I said, "There will always be campign chairs, just you wait and see."

It's been a year. I can still find no time limit L$2 per 10 minute camping chairs with relative ease (ok, so they have a limit of 2500 minutes). And if all 7 of those are taken I can fall back to four L$2/15min chairs that no one else in all of SL knows about but me, a friend, the owner, and maybe one other av.

If they eliminate the Traffic number it will VASTLY reduce camping chairs. The main reason to have the chairs is to increase your traffic number.

I knew removing dwell wouldnt cut camping when they did it, becuase of the Traffic number Lol the posts prolly beyond archived now.

I suppose there will still be some camping chairs becuase of the "Map Dot" concept. But it will give less finacial returns to the land owner.

Probably. I won't hold my breath for LL to change that though.

Mentioned earlier in this thread, LL has said that they will investigate ARs of camping chair abuses. See Torley's comments at the end of SVC-63. There have been a bunch of police blotter entries on this...

I must re-state (I'm not trying to defend camping because i also dislike it, but i have a point to make) LL has no way of determining what is and what isn't a camping chair as the same of they can't tell what is and what isn't a weapon until they see it. You can pull the script out of a camping chair and put it in a dancing pole for all that matters. It will react the same way. Only difference is your now a dancing zombie.

*laughs at that remark* dancing zombie.. move your dead bones bones bones. XD

Exactly. That's why Torley says they're looking at ARs on a case-by-case basis. If you AR somebody for having too many zombies at their place, LL will go take a look - doesn't matter if they're chairs or dance poles or whatever.
