Torley, I would accept a checkbox in the snapshot window for "HUD in next shapshot", But it should NEVER be the default to show HUD's that way.

Right on--default as OFF sounds good to me too. Okeydoke I've sent this link to developers... more to come.
I also like how Tiger outlined his menu idea (so clear like his groups!)... where would it be in the current View menu? (Between which existing items?) _____________________

*raises hand* I'm so sick of trying to take photos right now. I use three visible HUDS and its not like I can hotkey them on and off. Char Same and like someone earlier in the thread said if you model at all this has become a nightmare. I model and take pics for my own products as well as June Dion's from time to time so I use a Huddle,have an affection pack on that has cute poses and my AO for some shots. Default to off please! |

I wanna put my vote in for having an option to turn HUD in snapshots on/off rather than nerfing it completely.
EDIT: Forgot about the tiling on high-res. Can we get that fixed too please? |

Well as soem one who takes a snapshot or 100 i gotta tell you it really sucks to hafta stop..take off al my HUD attachments..gee lost teh moment..oh well
and i don't know if anybody has taken a High Rez pic now and seen the 5000 copies of the hud on teh screen...sighs..PLEASE make it go away _____________________

God, yes, please. You mean this behavior was intentionally added? This is baffling -- why on earth would anyone want HUDs to show up in screenshots to begin with? I don't care what the mechanism is, but give us some way to get rid of it.

UPDATE ON THIS IT'S OPTIONAL OKAY
What happened was: [ ] Show HUD Attachments now added to VIEW menu.See Preview 1.9 and give it a spin for yourself. It won't show up in snapshots now if you uncheck it. Not as flexible as what Tiger suggested, but at least you know you'll be able to show/hide them again in your piccies! _____________________

That's not a huge advance over what we have now. Remember, I already scripted this and posted the script for people to put in their HUDs, and the response was "that's OK as a workaround, but...". So... I already have this capability... and I don't use it. I've taken like two snapshots since this misfeature showed up. I used to take dozens a day. The HUD so mars the snapshot and remembering to hide it is so hard that it's turned snapshots from "cool feature" to "annoying burden". They remind me of why I don't bother to carry a camera in RL any more. I beg you, by all you consider holy, take out this "feature". HUDs are user interface, not part of the scene. |

God yes. I just took 329 photos of a nude and forgot to take off my HUD radar. Luckily it's easily deletable in about 300 of the shots, and the others are going in the can.
It's shocking that it's even default 'on' in the first place. A friend uses HUDDLES to control her posing station against a green or bluescreen, a brilliant idea. Except, you know, the *%^$^ ing HUDDLES is in the shot 50% of the time. |

But having this feature being optional would be much better. I know just yesterday I was taking pictures of friends and left one of my HUD items on(since I hadn't gotten use to HUDs showing) and ruined the pictures. I do like Tiger's setup better. As for where it will go under the View menu, just put it somewhere, we'll find it. Thanks, Syrph |

I cannot take decent pictures of myself anymore, unless I suffer the burden of setting up a shot, using a gesture to create an expression--of which there are only a few that don't animate/pose the entire avie--and then quickly shooting. This is a throw-back to the bad old days. People's art is affected by this awful curse of a feature. If someone wants the HUD shown, certainly they should have the option, but the default should be that it does not show in pictures, and one does not have to "hide" and "show" the hud. Give back to us our usability!! Please? _____________________

Concur with Argent and others. Do not include HUD's in screen snapshots. On High Res I get about 250 miniature huds sprinkled all over the screen shot. And this View Off, View On "fix" is a joke! Turn off your heads-up displays?! What did they get added FOR if not to USE them?!
I am curious to know is, was including HUD's in screen shots a big unintended goof that for some reason can't be retracted, or was it really "on-purpose" turned on according to some rationale? What in the world WAS that rationale and isn't it now clear it's not a good rationale? I'll forward your other post--and I've forwarded Tiger Crossing's more flexible suggestion as well. I agree with the thread, although I don't normally have a HUD that needs to be eliminated from a screenshot (I have one HUD that is for one av that I've semi-discontinued its use because of how much lag it causes (it's over 350 shiney prims)).

I dont want to ever see HUDS in my screenshots.
I shouldnt have to tell it to remove the HUD each time I take a picture. That just makes taking pictures a chore, as you would take it , then realise you left it on then have to try again and you realise the perfect moment for the shot is gone. |

I can't imagine any reason I would *ever* want a HUD to show in my screenshots.
If I wanted a funky picture frame, or something strange like that, I'd photoshop it in afterwards. Edited to add: I second Sitearm's questions. Was the addition of HUDs to screenshots really an intentional change? If so, why on earth? If not, please correct it soon! _____________________

I agree.... there isn't even a hotkey for this new ability to hide and show the hud....
at least if it was something like ctrl-shift-h or something I'd have the ability to hide it and show it withought being AS cumbersome.... I recently got an affection HUD that alllows me and a loved one to stand and hug or hold each other on the fly... to bad we can't take pics on the fly too _____________________
