That's how I see it, exactly! But then again It may just be an excuse for me to deny the governments role in a conspiracy to inject me with microchips at birth that program me to know how to fly an f-16... lol

I do have a friend, who happens to be left handed, who always switches my controls to un-inverted to play fps. Drives me nuts... I can't for the life of me figure that dude out!!!

Just got this game (finally) and tried shooting at the target range. New headache arose when I moved my mouse up, instead of the sight going down like normal, it went UP. Where is the inverted mouse option, I can't find one. The game NEEDS one :)

I have never met anyone that uses inverted mouse in FPS's well, atleast untill now, i dont really care much about that but, I HATE WASD!!!! i want to remap my keys!

E -> foreward
V-> back
S-> strafe left
F-> strafe right
Q-> fly up
A-> fly down

That would be the PERFECT keymapping for me, but i cant do it :(

Shortly after I referred Raghnall to the forums to ask for this feature, another new resident came through the welcome area and asked how to do it as well.

I think as SL grows and adopts more people from different computer backgrounds, it may need to start considering these features to make new people feel that SL is comfortable with their normal environment instead of being stuck with rigid and inflexible features.

Adaptable mouselook inversion and keyboard reassignments should be considered in the near future to help retain some trial users who are otherwise lost to frustration before they even get to the welcome area.

I'll add my vote to the side of "been playing FPS since the stone age and never used inverted mouse". Nor did any of my college buddies, who also all played with normal mouse, two of whom now work in the FPS/3D games industry (one as a mapper and artist, recruited for his DOOM maps, but obviously not on the programming end).

But I guess people who know "more or less what most gamers are used to" know what they're talking about, am i rite? :cool:

It's all about what people, are used to as individuals, and I'm also thinking enough have expressed interest that it'd be a worthy toggle.

Not that I really care to get into a fist fight....but could it be that inverted mouselook mode has to do with all the people that used to use trackballs instead of mice?

Just a thought.

Perhaps, but I've never used a trackball myself. I have always played FP games with inverted mouse look because of my flight sim days. It is what I have grown accustomed to over time. It was just a thought to have put in as an option. I do understand not everyone uses the inverted mouse feature, but some people do and the feature would make it that much easier for us that do than trying to relearn all over again :)

Exactly how is 'moving your mouse down to look up' more 'natrual?'

When you tilt your head back, you look up, when you tilt your head forward, you look down. Pull mouse back (tilt head back), push mouse foward (tilt head forward). Sounds pretty natural to me :)
