Lumping all child avatars into the same group is much like saying all blacks are thieves or all whites are racist. I have a Drow child AV that I play now and then. She has a family, a background and strict rules to never speak to strangers when she's out on her own. Some of us like to roleplay being a kid; nothing sexual about it..its just FUN! How many adults get to ride bikes around the whole place ringing a bell as loudly as they can, or skip everywhere or even complain about boys being icky and threaten to turn them all into frogs?

1. AgentOfEvil Boa is right !!!

"well if SL wants to take away gambling they should also remove child avatars, with the amount of Sex and other adult content in SL those avatars should be banned and removed"

Children are illegal in RealLife so we have to forbidd them in SecondLife too!!! Everyone who is against this should be banned and removed from SecondLife and from FirstLife too.

2. Sex with animals is also forbidden in the most countries!!! The next step after forbidding Child Avatars and Child Roleplay and Gambling MUST BE TO FORBIDD FURRYS

I think its disgusting if Humans play Animals and have Sex ... all those Players should be removed and banned !!!

3. Its also forbidden to torture People or have Slaves. Thats against all human rights, and against federal law. Its also disgusting and absolutly crazy. So we have to forbidd ALL SLAVES and TORTURE and GORE Games too !!!

4. Is illegal to drink alcoholic drinks under 21years in most states/countries. So we should ban all Clubs with bars, because no club can guarantee that a Player with a age of 18-21 is in his club and takes a drink!!! We cannot allow that SecondLife influence young people to get drunk and have party !!!

Come on, SL may of put a stupid bann on them and we know it, BUT we also damn well know that SL HAS NOT TRIED TO ENFORCE IT.

Only way they TRIED to Enforce it is to make it where you can not do a damn search for them!
You know. OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND CRAP!

Oh and before you start on me! I tell you this right now, SL is a damn Liar if they say they are Enforcing the Bann on them!
Hell, a couple of weeks ago before they blocked the search for them, you could find them by doing Group Search's real easy.
That and a hell of a lot of them call themselves Esscourt service's.

At the time I was and I was not.
I was not looking for that crap cause I like it.
I was looking for that crap cause I needed to know how easy it was to come by them accidently or on purpose as I am NOT the only Person that use's this PC.
Also, when I play this game, I am NOT the only person that can and does see what is on the monitor.
So, I needed to know real fast after I TP'd into a place where Kiddie fucking was going on when I thought I was TP'in into a damn "Poker Palace" to play a damn game of Texas Hold'em.
I found out real fast after that happened where and what type of place's NOT to TP into or around to where I halfway felt safe to go where I need to go as I learn more of this game without having to subject myself or others to what can and does go on in this game.

Oh, Second Life >>> You know dang well know what I am talking about!

No matter tho.

In short, Kiddie Sex still happens in SL and anyone that say's it does not is a liar or just wants to sit back and do it themselve's.

Thought about it, figured I explain a little more why I care about what can and can not be seen on this PC.
My PC and office stuff is run out of the Living Room pretty well next to the dang front door.
Why?
Hell, I have 5 kid's and married for 15yrs and oldest kid is just turning 13.
I have been online playing MMOG games and working off my PC for about 11yrs now.
So, putting the PC in the Living room near the front door so I could work or play just became habbit as I started it there so I could keep a eye on some kid's while I worked or played and also I knew if anyone came in or out of the house.
That and as long as you keep the Living room clean and block it off just right (LOL Nothing is child proof!) then it makes a hell of a huge play-pin for younger kids.

Anyway, I still not moved the PC yet, so most times everyone can see what I am doing on PC.
And before you say> what about the Adult stuff that goes on! I will tell you that crap is easier to avoid as they not try to hide it with False names or group names.

Oh SL> Unless they changed the name, try looking for a place that calls themselves >

Well, actually it is illegal to have more than ONE child in China. And since LL is trying to comply to more and more silly legislation from all around the world, the OP may have a point. By reducing the number of allowed children from 1 to 0 he is only a BIT more restrictive than the Chinese government.

P.S.: In preparation of further restrictions to come I have a nice set of mini-skirts I would like to trade for a Moslim-style burka in the color black, leaving only my eyes visible...

Point number one:

I entirely agree with AoE Boa's motives - banning simulated child sex in SL should be the main concern of EVERYONE. But, as many people here have already pointed out, there are already good measures to deal with this, and what more could be added?
I have been here 2 months, and in that time I have seen:

* many child avatars
* a great deal of ADULT avatar sexual aggression and irresponsibility

but I have not yet seen anything questionable relating to child sex. That's not to say it doesn't exist, just that it hardly seems like a noticeable feature of SL.

Point number two:

If child avatars are banned, then you immediately offend not only all the people who have chosen to be child avatar for harmless reasons, but two special groups of people:

* people who in RL are called "dwarfs", who in SL MIGHT choose to be normal height, OR they might choose to be child avatars.
* people who had happy childhoods but who are unhappy or stressed or abused adults, and who may wish - for reasons that are nobody's business but theirs - to revert to childhood in SL.

So I say to you Boa - yes, you have good motives, but you should use your creative imagination and intellect to come up with something rather better than "using a sledgehammer to crack a nut".

As for WKnight Hax - if you are, like me, in SL for non-sexual reasons, then I suggest you start using your initiative and imagination. I have been here 2 months and I have had many beautiful experiences and made many friends, and all without sex on the agenda (apart from lively and interesting discussions with male friends who are convinced that am going to "fall" eventually). Ok, there are lots of people in SL for sex. Big deal. They rarely intrude on me, and when they do, they get the sharp edge of my tongue, or else their pornographic IM messages are published in Chat for everyone else to see.
You don't need sex to have a second life. But grow up and face facts - sex is here, and if you don't like it, and you don't have the imagination to avoid it, then leave.

right on Tid, it should be our responsibility to report the person who is using a child avatar for obvious sexual things but we have no right to guess what a child avatar might be about to do. Mind your own business until it is obvious that you must do the right thing and report behavior that is against the TOS.

I've spotted a common denominator here:

child avatars require errr avatars
avatar sex requires err avatars
gambling requires errr avatars
griefing requires, yep, you've guess it, avatars
lag is caused by, yep, too many avatars!

All the problem seem to stem from these avatar things - let's ban those, then SL will be a much better place!
