I'm sure all of you have your own secret method. But this has become so annoying that it's time to come clean. I've been experimenting with various methods. Here's what has worked and what hasn't for me: * Take things off til you're under 5 attachments. Results: inconsistent * Remove hair and shoes, and hope you don't bump into anyone you know at the telehub. Results: Fair. * Relog: Time consuming, but results are a little better than the above. * Walk to the sim boundary. (Doesn't work if the sim is isolated) Results: sometimes the next sim is worse. * Always face north: Pretty reliable on Sundays. Never works on Thursdays. * Hold my Friendship Bear in one hand and take off my underwear. Results: Almost infallible the one time I tried it, but I got 12 cyber invitations within 4 minutes. I was busy that day. * Use the map to TP instead of landmarks. Results: Eh. * Wear a giant monkey skin with a blow-up penis. Results: Haven't tried this yet. You tell me. * Load up on attachments but ALWAYS remove my AO. Results: seems to work better than any of the above.

If at first you dont TP , TRY and TRy again
Ive noticed when i take off all attachments the main advantage is it just fails SOONER
Basically i just pester my poor TP provider over and over and over till it finally works.

TPs only work if you're completely naked.

From: Toast Bard TPs only work if you're completely naked. NAKED TELEPORTING Which would be great unless you land in a PG sim on your way to a Mature one. Eek Colette: Exactly. I just "sigh" anymore, they get the point

As we learned in Version 1.06 when teleporting problems began.
Stay at home. Do not attempt to leave your property.

To be honest I only really teleport while going to private islands...
The rest of my travelling I either use my superjump script (sail around sims in a single bound) - or I use a TranSit Kiosk I'm working on... high speed travel between set locations at 2000m. I don't travel to that many places - so for me it works out fine.
If you travel often to many diff places across the mainland - Francis Chungs 'ROAM' would be very good investment if Tporting aint doing it for you.
Siggy.

tp? easy, figure out where you want , make a url like this secondlife://simname/60/60 (click on world map you will see this) quit sl start / run / paste in your url you made [enter] SL start and will put you there or pretty close to it ingame I already made several links that i can just click on and tp to , as tp is borked to much to keep trying over and over.

I put my right foot in...I put my right foot out...I put my right foot in and I shake it all about...I do the hokey pokey and I turn myself around and then i try to TP and fail...
I have tried to TP with my normal attachments...and have tried with nothing on. There is no rhyme or reason to being able to TP. I can get all the way to the last attachment and then the stupid 'timely manner' message comes up. I can almost hear the TP bar say... I think I can...I think I can...yes yes! Oh oops..maybe not. Not being able to TP when wanted has been a pain in my ass.
It seems to me that the TP timer could be extended. I'll be glad to sit there an extra minute if a TP would go through. It's better than trying over and over and over again.
Apparently from what I have heard it is something they are 'working' on that may take a few weeks...

I just take off SCRIPTED object (usually 2-3 items), as hair with no scripts or other things don't seem to get in the way of TPs...but if it has a script in it then it has to save, and that takes the extra time.

Siggy. ROAM hasn't been doing it either. An endless cycle of ROAM, transport aborted, ROAM, transport aborted, ROAM, destination in view (yay!), "this application has unexpectedly quit". Relog puts you back to original departure point. Try again. Next day: Stay put; talk to friends in im or let them come to you.

Thili, good point - I've used that on occasion when I absolutely, positively have to get somewhere. Otherwise I have also used my jet pack to just fly there. Hmm. ROAM -- I looked into this when it was first announced. Have the bugs been fixed? From: Surreal Farber TP? What is this TP you speak of. I generally just use a ROAM device, and that works pretty well for me. I have never had a lot of tp problems though, but I don't have many attachments (under 5).

It's odd ... But my teleporting was instantaneous yesterday. The screen didn't even black out with that "Saving Attachments" message. The scenery just promptly changed. This was from my sim to Butsu hub. Then from Butsu place to another island sim. Then to Mauve hub. Lastly, Indigo, and then back to my sim. All instant. I had 30-40 prims on me. But no shoes and no scripts in any of zee prims. I felt special.

Now we got a reason to go naked. Oh i forgot to re-attach everything after i teleported. *blush*
After about 15-25 tries the TP usually works. its worse for furries cuz all we are is attachments.

From: Cindy Claveau Hmm. ROAM -- I looked into this when it was first announced. Have the bugs been fixed? As indicated from this thread, it's works well for many and I've had many good ROAMing days. I haven't been able to use it as a substitute during this recent teleporting issue period. Also, I posted in the technical issues forum regarding the loss music which I usually experience after using ROAM. Only one other person reported the same. I'm hoping it's still in beta mode and that the satisfactory experience of most people hasn't stopped work on the bugs.

From: Cindy Claveau I'm sure all of you have your own secret method. But this has become so annoying that it's time to come clean. I prefer: Take off all *scripted* attachments. As it is, since a couple updates ago, only those attachments that have changed or have scripts are saved during a teleport. This method is 100% reliable, save in the most laggy sims (where any teleportation is unreliable).

I still like the friendship bear method, though. Just for style points.

My TP Secret Revealed...
07-26-2005 14:14
"Have Reve, Will Travel"
I will only detach so many items and under no circumstances will my hair come off. So I only travel with Reve (my wonderful partner). He always goes first and then tp's me. Sometimes only once, other times over and over till I get there.

Sure fire ways to TP:
1 - Vrigin sacrifice at the foot of your computer. However, if you use a laptop, you'll have to smear goat's blood on the screen. ATI video card owners may also have to sell their own souls. 2 - Perform the "Numa Numa" gesture before you attempt a TP. 3 - TP to someplace you don't want to go and the TP will work.

Take off my one scripted attatchment, or switch to an av with no attatchment.
But there are times when the TP does not hand off correctly to the destination sim (in 100% of these cases, islands) and I'm now in limbo.
At that point re-log or such will not fix getting into the original destination sim, I'm 'locked out' of it for several hours while the sim process does some sort of cache refresh and figures out I'm not supposed to be there. The originating sim of the TP is OK, only the destination sim when the botch occurs.
I cannot reliably reproduce, else I'd post a bug report.
