Sorry to hear about your loss Paris, it's been over 2 years since I lost my grandparents, but still, the hurt never doe's truly go away, I know its not the same as parents but I was fiercely close to my Grandmother.

I hope your project go's well, and should you need anything, please do ask :) I'm sure I can help in some way, shape or form :)

That's a wonderful idea Paris, and I'm sorry to hear about your dad.

Maybe you could encourage people to build a gift or ornament... something their loved one would have enjoyed or that reminds them of some special time or some quality they had. They could all be placed under a giant tree with tags like the "to: from:" tags on real gifts that could have a message. Whatever you do, I hope it brings you some peace and comfort :)

If you decide to do something like this - I made a 20M Tree last night that you are welcome to have.

Paris,

How about a Christmas tree, with every branch named after a loved one who has died?

How about a memorial and a place to donate Lindens to convert to US$ for the Marines Toys for Tots program.

Paris,
Looks like you will have lots of support for this project! Most of us can relate to this topic, whether or special person died this year or years past. Hugs, and talking are a great way to overcome the grief. My irst thought was to plant a tree for each person. Hope this takes off, and I would love to be part of it.

I would like to thank all you who responded to my thread and for sharing your great ideas. I greatly appreciate your help very much. I have decided I would like to do the snow globe field. I decided this bc I personally like snow globes, but all the ideas were awesome...I wish I could do them all. I have to get a hold of Haney or Robin to see if they will let me use Linden land to do the project. If there is anyone out there who can help me with the land part plz let me know. Although I have decided on what I want to do, I still would love to see more response to this thread and see more ppl particpate. It is good to know ppl do care. Thank you all so much. *hugz & kisses* :)

Thank you Haney! Thank you all for your support. The SL community is really a great group of people. Like a huge family, our fights are nasty, passionate and personal at times but when it comes down to it we all love each other and rise above the pettiness when we need to. This is the true spirit of this wonderful community!

Happy Holidays!

ONE LOVE!

I lost my mother and father last year - seems like there are many people out there who lost parents last year. How about a huge Xmas tree and then we can make and add ornaments for our lost ones?
And I should say how sorry I am, Paris, for your loss.

Maybe we can set one up along with the snow globes. I have sent in the proposal for the land in Plum. As soon I get a reply we can start displaying. I would like to meet up with anyone who would like to participate. I will be IW tonight...if anyone is online you can IM me and maybe we can talk about this project.

I just want to update anyone who wants to participate on the holiday project with the latest news. I was notified by LL that we are able to start using the land in Plum starting today until Jan. 6th. I will need to ask Haney the exact location. I will be on this evening so I can start working on my snow globe. Anyone and everyone is welcome to do the same. I really hope this turns out well.

Paris :)

I lost my dad (49 years old) just this year Feb. 23 in a freak accident at work. This Christmas is going to be hard for my family.

Sorry to hear of your loss, Paris. I can relate. My father died at the age of 54 for no apparent reason. I was 19 at the time.

This was 10 years ago, so I don't exactly qualify for your project myself (I haven't lost anyone in the past year, knock on wood), but I just wanted to say I think it's a wonderful idea.

Jebus...I had no idea my thread came off as making ppl feel they need to qualify. This project is for anyone who would like to participate. I would love if you would Chosen. I should have worded my thread better than I did. I think experiencing the loss of a loved one is such a painful thing to deal with and no matter how long is has been the pain is still there. I know this because my husband (Darko) lost his dad when he was 18 and it still hurts. I would encourage anyone who can relate PLZ participate. :)

I agree. I would love to take part in this. I lost an uncle 2 years ago to a heart attack. I was only 18 at the time and it was and still is the only family member I have lost <Thank god.> It hurts me because I had only met him 4 years earlier. I would love to take part in this, and will be giving you a IM in game tonight :D Thank you for this wonderful idea!

Paris, check out the Textures folder in the Library folder at the top of your inventory. The Lindens have included all the textures they use in all the sims, snow areas too!

Quick update....We have started the memorial in Plum and hope to be finished at the beginning of the next week. We would like to get an idea of how many ppl will be participating...meaning to have a snow globe on display. Please IM me IW if you would like a snow globe for a loved one. We encourage ppl to participate up until the last day which is the 6th of January.

Happy Holidays. One Love. :p
