SL Residents, Burning Life needs your help!
For some reason the Lindens seem to have forgot about the 6 sims drifting out in the ocean.
So instead of just whining about it, I ask the SL forums community to step up and promote this amazing once a year event.
Considering the growth in the population of SL the visitor rate to the burning sims has been abysmal. There are 6 sims worth of amazing creations that shouldn’t be missed.
I’ve tossed together a promotional poster showing a mere sampling of what is to be seen, you can either save it from here or save the 10L to load it and pick one up at my plot (BL 1 61,61)
Please take it and plaster the world with it!
It’s a shame that only the forums and Snapzilla users and not the world at large knows about this event. And a special kudos to Cristiano for giving it the space it deserves on Snapzilla
It's only here a week, don’t miss it

You know - this was really weird - last year, the sims were connected and promoted.
This year I was not sure if I was ending up at Buring Life or a club that was simulating Buring Life. Nothing seems to have been promoted by the Lindens? Unless I missed it? Maybe I did? No little banner saying visit X, Y, Z. Nothing under Pagents?
One would think it would be under Pagents?
Just seems to me that last year this had a lot more Linden support.

Has anyone poked the Lindens about it? Hotline or in world? It does seem that this should be on the front page. One post on NWN over a week ago and some buried forum posts seem disproportionate to the resources that LL are putting forward, let alone the builders and artists.

Thank you Keith. I would hate to think after those poor gnomes escaped from the prim factory that no one would be there to cheer their escape. I don't get it either. Who knows. Between Katrina in RL and that fiasco they call the MJW stirring up people's ire, maybe we just lost everyone's attention. I have taken a copy of the poster and I'll put it up in our shop as well as frame it for home use. - Rose

SLuniverse.com has extensive coverage of Burning Life - the home page of SLuniverse has featured information on it, it is on the calendar of events in the SLU forums, and there is a special gallery of images from Burning Life on Snapzilla that has nearly 500 images in it already. Additionally, there are two Burning Life related ad banners (one for the event, one for Katrina donations) running at the top of Snapzilla that have been viewed more than 110,000 times in the past 4 days. I am not sure why LL has dropped the ball on promoting this event, but I am trying to bring as much attention to it as I can.

TY Lecktor, Well I asked my SL family to join me and we all had a blast doing it. Wasn’t like work at all just pure FUN! With a team like CrystalShard Foo and her adventure game and scripts… Sky Everett, Baron Grayson, and Bourbon Montagne texturing and flinging prims with me… and our resident bard Serine Bard’s quill… how could I go wrong? Team Hug! No I mean umm team Arrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!

I've been posting enthusiastically about Burning Life in my blog, but I doubt anyone has seen it since I only started writing in it very recently. Keith, I couldn't find your pirate-themed build today. Tell me where it is, ye scalliwag, or I make ye walk the plywood plank, yarr!

Cool Keith!! I'll put one up in my shop! And thank you to everyone (Keith, Cristiano, Thea, and others) who have been trying hard to help promote the BL. Without you all, I don't know if very many people would remember it is even going on.

Wonderful I've taken a copy and have been handing them out as well as asking if i can put them up at a few friends clubs/shops. I did notice a message refering to BL when I logged on today. Think we finally shamed the Lindens into a token gesture?

You can read (and hopefully write) about all the past and present Burning Life events at the history wiki: http://history.secondserver.net

Cristiano, I know that you are not very technical as you have to spend your time building SL fansites and inventing Snapzilla and such so I thought I'd pass along a little tip: the world wide web is based on things called hyperlinks which allow the casual browser to easily navigate from page to page. In these forums there is a way of inserting hyperlinks so that you can say: Please let me know if you need further assitance with hyperlink markup tags.

A little late but I added a sign to the Museum land. The sign is free to copy as well as a notecard with a landmark and the image in it. Also an annoying thing I noticed, the BL sims can't be landmarked on Linden owned land. Image UUID I uploaded if anyone wants to grab instead of uploading: eeb3bd69-0980-5588-2731-1daf1d49e377 Or IM me and I'll drop one on you as soon as I can.

Not officialy. But you could do the same as I did and find a empty plot and just build on it. link to my forum post about it. /120/e8/60682/1.htmlOr if what you have in mind isn't real big, just set it up on the same plot as mine. The sims will be there till the 12th.

It's not very big ( 1.2 metres on it's longest axis ) but could generate a hell of a lot of prims in normal use. I can't run it on my own land, but the result is cool.

That sounds small. Come and set it up. Don't know about the prims, the plot has still 1835 left to use. So i don't think there would be any trouble. And btw, BL is extended till the 19th.

Thanks for all your help! There’s a lot more green dots wandering around the Burning Life sims now! And a huge thank you to the Lindens for extending Burning Life for another week and announcing an official event! I’ve updated the BL poster at my plot with the new end date. Feel free to take a copy and pass around as you wish. Thanks again everyone, you really made a difference! KX
