Isis, your entire response to me is based on your misreading my comment.
.

My initial comment was not directed at you per se it was directed at those who did post that land should be taken away from members who are not visibly active or do not log in often. My other response was in reference to your slight against me. I read every one of your posts and those which followed. In your first post you made this comment:

"And I bet in a lot of the cases the owners wouldn't care if the land was reclaimed and sold at auction, because they will never log into SL again."

Sounds like you had some sort of solution to the problem in mind. Those who posted afterwards did not come to that conclusion on their own but instead did so by your suggestion. Back peddling is fine so long as you do not accuse me of putting words in your mouth which you authored.

You also chose to cite the vagueness of the ToS with regards to abusing neighbors.

"in SL the TOS/CG spell out some of those, like not banning residents who need to cross your land to get to their own. If you are violating TOS/CG by abusing your neighbors, LL can take action up to banning you from SL, so I see no problem with them repossessing your land, clearing it of builds, or at least setting it to autoreturn."

I do not see how trash accumulating on someone elses property is abusing you. The Lindens have always been great about coming along and turning off particals or deleting offensive or sim disrupting objects when neighbors have problems. Any other course of action beyond this is asking for government oversight of land uses, a movement I am against beyond anything already addressed in the ToS.

You are the one who chose to personalize my opinion. You asked for opinions and I gave mine. I am sorry if I do not coddle those who wish to dictate the appropriate uses of other folk's land in SL.

I'm sorry if someone already mentioned this , but I'm at work and didn't have time to read the entire thread. I think it'd be cool if you knew you were going away on an extended SL vacation if you could take a sort of inventory or snapshot of your land. From that point on anything that collects on your land would be auto-returned after so many minutes, but every prim you had at the time of the inventory would remain.

This would keep trash off your land while you're away.

Exellent suggestion! I don't believe anyone has posted anything along those lines but it sounds like a feature request worth posting.
