Your ISP has a TOS as well, and they can kick you off "the internet" for violating it.
If you become enough of a nuisance on "the internet", you can get even get kicked off "the real world" by being imprisoned.

Second Life can never, ever, be more like the Internet, and will never be, as long as the rule exists where if you get kicked off the forums, you get banned from the game. I have not heard of people getting kicked off the Internet, particularly not for what they say on a forum discussing the Internet. That rule only underlines what a closed society this is, and it makes it more closed than ever now. Oh, I think plenty of people here say exactly what they think. It is how those thoughts are received that is important.
If you happen to agree with the majority, you will quite often have to face accusations of group think. It's really frustrating to speak your mind, and then basically be told you're not, because of the fact that some folks won't accept it as independent thought, unless you are part of this "underdog" mentality. _____________________

But, as I no longer believe this to be a sincere thread, I withdraw from it. Nice exit. The only thing I can think of to say in reply is, 'Don't let it hit ya in the ass.' ObTop: I think LL should make a special place where people who have feelings that are more tender than a sub's ass at a spanking convention can play. Hire special people to coddle them and always agree with them so they can enjoy believing in their inherent rightness and never have to face the ugly, ugly reality that part of living in the real world is that you have to adjust for the presence of others. Contrary to popular belief, making SL more like the internet isn't going to improve the quality of the people hanging around. If anything, as AOL so neatly demonstrates, it will push the entire place closer to the lowest common denominator. On the upside, that tends to make for juicy bottom lines in the books. _____________________
