He wasn't banned for that, or anything even remotely in the same ballpark. I have no desire to go over it, but it was appalling, relentless, vicious, and above all, absolutely destructive of any rational discourse, and virtually the entire forum culture in whole areas. The fact that I agreed, and still agree, with some of his views does not mitigate this. The mere issues appeared only of value to him as a vehicle for his ego games, which I prefer not to characterise further. You lot brought this all up again, remember. I didn't. I had hoped, (and been told, by coco I think) that his inworld persona was more mellow, and thought that maybe I could even have supported his efforts on a few points. I'm such a foolish optimist. I got this, sent to the whole group, and the old nausea returned: "Prokofy Neva has proposed to vote in Second Life.
As long as this group is filled with non-like-minded, hecklers, and rubber-neckers, I don't want that 2/3 to be the mandated 2/3 whatever the need for consensus. Let the group gel and more officers be added before this is instituted ."Then I read the transcript of the group meeting, and almost goggled in disbelief. When will I ever learn ? The sensation I feel is not anger, or even dislike. It is more akin to being forced to watch someone fanatically cutting into their own forearm with a razor blade, and needing you to watch. I just want to get away and not see it any more. I'll never ever forget seeing the TV interview with Princess Diana in which she innocently reassured the interviewer "I didn't only cut myself in front of Charles". All there, in that one sentence. |

There no argument here, but that is, of course, because I happen to know the person in question has stated they use the guidelines to plan their attacks and harrassment of others. We're not at all talking at crosspurposes. You're merely assuming you know more than you do. It's ok. I'm used to it.
