I never could get the hang of those devices, which is a farking shame as I believe the newer ThinkPads to be a mastery of industrial design.

I recommend this mouse. It's cordless, rechargeable and comes on it's own base. I actually use this one myself...works well under every circumstance and just about any surface. The mousepad I have is solid black and it has not problems on that surface.
 Buy it at Sam's if you have one near you, very inexpensive there compared to the 80 bucks at Best Buy. Info link and more pics: _____________________
