Is it just me or would anyone else like to see Weather affects added. Or even the abilty to plug a zip code into your land and have the weather or that sim fallow the weather of that zip code. (for Priv. Islands of course) I dont know why i just think it would be kinda cool to be sitting in my house watching a snow storm or tunderstorm roll by in SL.
PS. I'm sure this has been beat to death before in the forums.

I'm sure this has been beat to death before in the forums. Anarchy Online has weather systems... I have to admit its kinda cool! You have your sound cranked up and its gets a lil quiet then BAM! A thunder storm.. adds some atmoshere _____________________

I'd dig random weather all over the mainland. Sunny, cloudy, rainy, thunderstorms... snow in the snow sims.
Tornadoes that wreck builds... Ok, maybe not the tornadoes. _____________________

Well, if weather was to make an appearance in SL, I'd like it to be as ideal as SL is. Rain would be predictable...and maybe the weather effects would only be over the land parcel that enables them.
It would be kinda nice if we could request a light rain to fall for an hour or so....or maybe for it to snow over the mountains. It might be a little too complex to try and satisfy everyone, tho. _____________________

I'd love to see weather effects in SL. It would be really neat to have an over-all sim weather that individual parcels could turn on or off plus have the ability for a parcel to be set to whatever weather the owner desired.

How great would our 2nd lives be if you could experience all diff types of weather effects? OMG it would be amazing!
I LOVE in Chinatown when it rains! It's such a surreal feeling - tranquil... and in a way enchanting to see and hear the rain there. I would love for this to be available! It would enrich my 2nd Life so much more. _____________________

When this came up a while back, a LOT of people were against it.
I like the idea of weather in SL -a lot-, it'd add some dynamicism to the world. But I believe a lot of folks didn't want to see weather. Remember, there are lots of people who turn off trees and set the sun to always up. Unless they could turn off weather, I think you'd get complaints from them. The other problem at this point, is that there's no way to keep weather out of buildings yet. (rain particles, etc, would go right through any given building.) So it might be a while until that's solved. It's definitely something I hope they approach, I'd love to see a storm come in, the trees start blowing in the wind more, and even wind/thunder/lightning effects... But, again, there'd have to be an opt-out. Some people *really* don't like bad weather, or anything but 'sunny' in RL or SL. I always thought changes in weather made life more interesting. But I think most people don't. |

Its a novel idea, but how would snow accumulation be handled in SL? Would snow drifts count toward your prim count, like the trees? Could some of it be moved, such as clearing roads or sidewalks?
