From: someone Originally posted by Tracey Kato I'm not sure this will help for everything, but this is what I do.
Right click on yourself and select "GO". A little box will open with arrows and a "FLY" button.
Now, open the LandMark of where you want to go, hold down the "W" key to move forward and at the same time hold your mouse button on the up arrow in the little box. If necessary you can correct direction using the "A" & "D" keys. This way you will stay above the clouds until you get within say 100m of your target, release the mouse button, and glide into your destination.
-TK that's a dirty workaround... and especially lethal on my cordless mouse i wouldn't mind a "drag" as you move towards the ceiling, where upward movement becomes slower as you approach it. but drifting back down is just plain annoying

Ok well, I'm bumping this so anyone who missed it will have a change to voice their oppinion. I believe this issue to be an important one to be resolved before public release.

Well, one thing is certain...if there is going to be a downdrift, it should reach ALL THE WAY UP. In other words, the bit and pieces floating at the very top should eventually come down on thier own. As it stands, the topmost ones are stuck where it's practically impossible to reach them.
Another thing...the point where you can hover seems to be a specific distance from the ground. Shouldn't it be a certain distance from the ceiling? As it stands now, I can hover higher if I stop over a hill than a ditch. Just seems wrong somehow.
My opinion.

I also disagree with removing the flying downdrift. I believe it is an excellent feature that you should learn to live and deal with. I believe if you build a high building, then you should either script, or hire someone to script elevators or other devices into it. I personally have a place at 250m right now and the only way up there reasonably is my current transport system. I like the idea that after a certain height you are forced to rely on objects to stay up there, once we have more reasonable flying vehicles, then anyone can get up to these areas. If you need elevators, look around at people who have them and ask who scripted it for them or if they would be able to script one for you. I personally do custom scripts, if you want one, send me a message. Tonight I'm going to put my home location on my profile, so just stop by and take a look or send me a message. If you need some help reclaiming or getting objects that are above the 200m ceiling, I can help with that. there should be a group formed with the soul purpose of helping people reclaim lost items, there are so many "House in a box"'s floating above 200 it is just funny. And almost none of them are at the correct rotation.

I use a flight object that exerts a forward and slightly upturned force while you fly. Faster than regular flying, and minimizes the grav drag. Eats two macro keys though (start/stop).
I sell one with some features but if you don't want all that, figuring out a basic anti grav-effect script for flight shouldn't be hard; just have a little item that taps you up while you fly.
I spose it would be easier to just have them remove it, but they do give you the capability to beat it.
