(I guess he does act like an ass in those situations, and maybe - MAYBE but I very much doubt it - I do, too.)

I sat there a long time making plans about a condo of my own, etc., and what to do with the kids. Then I cut to the chase and asked myself down deep: Do you really want to leave him? The answer was no. Absolutely not. OK, then, get back home and get on with it, miserable though you are. This, too, shall pass, and it did.

OMG - I SO DID THIS! Even smoked as I sat there and thought about it (after I'd quit). lol.

Mostly it has passed .... the occasions that I have a nearly uncontrollable urge to zap him in the ass repeatedly with the nail gun are less.

Can you go to prison for zapping someone in the ass with a nail gun?

Muhahahahahaha

The reality is though, that I cannot imagine life without him.

(lol edited to say that I'm sure he would prefer the watermelon blaster to the nail gun)....

The other thing is yes, he said that.
Pen, just to expand on what I said before... I didn't mean to imply that I thought he didn't say what you posted, if that was what you (or anybody) inferred; I meant I was surprised he would say this to you. (Bleh, you'd think that I could express myself with an English degree under my belt. :o )

I also didn't mean to sound judgmental and preachy. I'm truly just glad to hear that you're feeling okay now, and not as low as you (obviously) felt last night when you made the first post in this thread. :)

I knew what you were saying Beryl! No worries!! *HUGS* :)

I just felt the need to clarify based on some of the responses. While it sucks, and yeah we really need to work on things, I also know nothing could tear my husband and I apart. We really do love each other. And it sucks that we can be so horrible to each when we fight. I just didn't want people to think it is any worse than it is though.

I love the support and kind words. They bring a smile to my face and soften my heart. But I also don't want anyone worrying about me more than they should.
