I am absolutely sickened by the things that are happening during this horrible time after the Hurricane. I have been watching the news here at work and there are many reports of crime, looting and even a story about a nurse who was held at gunpoint when she went outside for some fresh air after having been working constantly helping people. Seeing people stealing what they can and running off all smiling like it's Christmas. I can not believe that especially in a time like this were there are hundreds, maybe thousands dead, and possibly a million or so homeless, that things like this happen. I know it happens but what I do not understand is why people put so much effort into being worthless and criminalistic instead of being a good person and helping. In a time when EVERYONE should come together and help, there are still scum that will take advantage. I sincerely believe these types of people should be publically hung for everyone to see, for I am personally sick and tired of my tax dollars going to pay for criminals to have 3 hots and a cot. I just don't understand. It is so horrible to see and hear about...it breaks my heart... Welcome to the truth about humanity, please leave your ideas of civilization at the door. _____________________

But seriously Chance, you hit the nail on the head. Europe no different then America, our sentences may be extremely low for you (2 years for child-abuse, 4 for serious theft), but its still twice as much for stealing as for abuse.
Why oh why? Does anyone have a nice theory about this (concerning the fact that wo DO value human life over property in a lot of ways, so why not in this)? |

The only thing I can think of, but I'm probably wrong, is that maybe the longer sentences for high end theft is due to the fact that it happens much more often?

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS! |

Because a person's life is only valuable to them, but diamonds are forever. _____________________

It has been said that we are ALL only 10 meals away from committing murder. Think about it, desperate people do desperate things.
from Websters: Main Entry: des·per·ate Pronunciation: 'des-p(& ![]() Function: adjective Etymology: Latin desperatus, past participle of desperare 1 a : having lost hope <a desperate spirit crying for relief> b : giving no ground for hope <the outlook was desperate> 2 a : moved by despair <victims made desperate by abuse> b : involving or employing extreme measures in an attempt to escape defeat or frustration <made a desperate leap for the rope> 3 : suffering extreme need or anxiety <desperate for money> 4 : involving extreme danger or possible disaster <a desperate situation> 5 : of extreme intensity 6 : SHOCKING, OUTRAGEOUS Try going without food or water for 3 days, you might be surprised at what you might do in that situation. _____________________

Try going without food or water for 3 days, you might be surprised at what you might do in that situation. I've done the former many, many times. It made me lethargic and impaired my judgment (and doing it consistently made me lose 20 pounds in a month). But it never made me want to kill anyone. Psilocybin on the other hand... But also I wasn't around that bad N.O. vibe at the time. Situation can be more affective than malnutrition. _____________________

And though fully fed, waterd and sheltered from the elements, you pop off about a perception of racism which is the result of two captions on photographs... What would you REALLY do under true duress? Personally, I think the reverse racsim evident in your posts is far more obvious than the prejudice you claim is in the captions. |
