I gave my first neg rating in the two months Ive been here last night.
was working on an avatar upstairs at my house, and I got the security blip that someone was at the door. went downstairs, let them in, said hi. the guy saw someone was in the house, and just ran. no saying hi, nothing. Its impossible that he didnt hear me, so I feel justified. perv.

I still don't understand why people get so worked up over players who like to neg rate frequently, yet no one seems to mind the other end of the spectrum: people who actively search out people to abuse report. I've never been one to rate people either way, and I certainly have never seen anything worth abuse reporting someone for, but i have to say, the lesser of the two evils, to me, is the frivolous use of negative rates. There is no real consequence to having 3 negative ratings on your profile. However, when people sit around the welcome area and report everyone that slips up and says a "naughty word" or, god forbid, has a difference of opinion with the person in search of "abuse," then they can really mess with someone's SL experience. It is also important to note that the people who hand out mass negative ratings usually have something to offer in terms of personality. I have yet to met a "griefer" hunter with so much as a verifiable pulse, let alone a personality.

I agree Mina, he probably was looking around, thought no one was home and then got nervous when someone was there. Or he could have gotten called away. I like to do exploring and sometimes I feel like I've intruded on someone's private moment and I've gone away. Hope he wasn't someone on a trial membership who now cancels because of this neg rating. As for neg ratings, I've never given one out. Never found a need. Thank you for spewing sense into this thread. _____________________

Back in the day, I believed an asshole wasn't worth 3 bucks to triple neg. My opinion hasn't changed.
