I have an Idea....maybe we should make it so that the mentors that truly want to be mentors set up a schedule so that a Linden and a Mentor can be in the 4 sims all the time.
The way this would work would be the mentors would like now get paid In game cash for "babysitting" the 4 Sims. However once they were in the sims they would need be linked constantly to a linden Via IM in case trouble arose but still yet they could be there to help cool down the hot headed or just anxious newbies.
Or maybe have profieciency course so that once a newbie Progressed to a certain step via passing a test either evaluated by a mentor or by a Linden then and only then could they pass on out to an additional Ring of Simulators. make it so that the 4 sims were the center ring but as they progressed they could move out say one sim width from the 4 sims and once they passed another one they could then move on to the next band....have like 3 band widths that they could go to and only a Linden or Responcible metor could bestow that athority on them.
By making them pass a set of test that would reduce the number of trash prims that would float around because that would be part of the tests...In game etiquet.
again just an Idea...I guess i have beenrunning off at the Mouth alot today...

I just had a little idea spark, instead of removing the 4 sim restriction, why not let ppl 'guide' newbs around the world, it would take hell to impliment, but it would provide a medium for the new users to explore all of SL, supervised. What I think it should be: 1-2 trial users per mentor (guide) trial user can cross sim boarders into sim where guide is in, if the guide moves to another sim, the newb has to follow, is given 10 minutes or so to follow, or is transported back to welcome area. Newb cant exit the sim where the guide is in (unless guide is in welcome area). Guide can manually teleport the trial users back into the welcome area. If guide goes offline, trial users auto-teleport to the welcome area. If guide goes AFK, guide cant move/be pushed. ---- Just a little idea, from yours truly, -Chris

Not a bad thought, Christopher.
Another, similar idea. Tour bus. Let 'em get on in the welcome area, lock the doors, give them the tour. Let 'em back off the bus when you get back to the welcome area.
If they get tired of it, they can teleport home (the welcome area) for free.
The problem to catch here is a user disconnecting or logging while outside the welcome area. You have to make sure that trial users are only allowed to log in at their home location, never at their last location. And they aren't allowed to set their home location while they're out of the trial zone.

Before I muted him, EZ MONEY was threatening to ruin my life as soon as he got out of suspension. I was about to go lifetime, but if I have the constant worry of him ruining my inworld time, I really have to think about it. Some people come to SL to build, some come to design clothes, I come to socialize and have a good time. If I'm having a miserable time then there's not too much reason to stick around, is there? From: someone Originally posted by Shadow Weaver Peter I know I can say for most we appreciate that about the enforcement of age but what of the Griefers that are banging on the 4 sim walls to let them out so they can run amok amongst us.
I mean I can understand they are bored to tears not being able to go anywhere see anything do any thing. Still yet, some have some suspicions at this moment that a few of our friendly neighborhood Griefers are heading back in world and I have a feeling this time they will with a vengence against those that got them removed in the first place.
So the question again is what do we do about Griefers that are harkening the walls of the 4 trial sims waiting to run amok?
Just a question mind you.

Well, i know this has talked about this, but just had to add my two cents on the subject. When i first came to SL, it was a wonderous, ADULT environment....i had not a complaint about who or what i had come across<accept my travels into Jesse silly me lol>...until the new trial came to be.....being that Dore was the first area i teleported into when i started my account..i felt it "my home"...i had met alot of terrific people and stage 4 was my constant hang out....but since the new trial with no CC required...i actually by-pass Dore most of the time now...4 times ive been harrassed, followed, verbally molested, and repeatedly bumped into <until i was able to get out of the 4 sim trial area> while traveling into Dore and the stage four area.....i know its all about getting new life<and money yes i know> into the game...but why not a FREE trial...with CC information so you know these folks are ADULTS..with the card not getting charged until after the trial<in other words..back to the way it was <wink>< i know..having a credit card doesnt specifically mean your an adult, but you get my jest..right?>...i have nothing against new folk...heck..im not that much of a veteran myself.....but....there are AV's running around in thier tightie whities chasing me!!!!!.......thanks for listening guys < hugs to all> From: someone One day..Hobbits will rule the world<grin>

Morris must have crashed about 20 times yesterday, a lot of it no doubt due to the sandbox highjinks combined with some really big crowds. I think it is really great, by the way, seeing Craig and Spike, Daitenshi/Joshua and everyone else doing their huge ramps, spirals and other builds; the newbs are really loving it and seeing just what is possible with a few prims and a little time. Rizal would be a great place to open to the newbs since of all the sims it gets used the very least, which is a shame... From: someone Originally posted by Misnomer Jones James mentioned in another thread that they might want to consider having a sandbox sim added to the trial area INSTEAD of calling Morris the sandbox.
I agree. That would serve 2 purposes. Keeping Morris stable for those who arent using it as a sandbox and providing them a little more space to do stuff. If it continues to be crowded why not allow them access to Rizal to play some games and let off steam??
