I have spoken to several people in sl about the forums and most of them reply..'what forums'....am just curious why the forums cannot be read ingame? I am sure many 'real' players would post their opinions if we could access it from sl. OR...is this the reason why it is not accessable ingame? The forums here are manipulated by Linden wannabes or Linden alts with the exception of a couple people. Most of the people in sl agree with those couple of people that actually defend the majority of us. I personally want to thank them for their efforts .... having a backbone and not being intimidated by these jerks. Keep up the good work...*smiles*

Thank you I try to continue the forums in world with my various discussion events like THAT DAMMED PROKOFY. Indeed, we are oft encouraged by Jeska to have these discussions that so trouble us here "in IMs or inworld chat". I wouldn't wish these forums on the world. Imagine sitting in your wonderful waterfront in SL, kicking back and chilling to ambient music, surrounded by your friends and loved ones, and you have to pull up some prim or something to read this dreck across the sky. I would just recommend reading this new newspaper Second Life Times instead. I think it's easy enough to come here outside of the game, and even keep the game running, that you don't need to intrude into the world with it.

The forums are for a handful of SL players (and possibly non-players) to visit regularly and for the rest of us to flood into when SL goes down.

When I'm not at work I rarely read the forums. It is just my entertainment during slow times in the workday.

From: Catherine Cotton with 1.7 I will be pushing for just that Thinking about putting the forum's on a prim? hehe.. This thread just made me think that may actually be a good use for them! PS: Kelley, though there is a good hunch you are an alt (hey, you accused most of us as being them first!), I will say that the few posts you have made on the forums thus far you have used to call the majority of the people using them "jerks". Yet you don't even know them, nor have you had time to read even a third of their posts. I'm glad that you posted in the forums, because your attitude warns me to stay away from you in world. And I'll be sure to warn others about you as well. So thank you again.

Pendari as far as staying away from ppl just because of their views in the forums, I try not to do that except in extreme cases. I for one try to keep the forums out of my sl experience. I think other do as well. Get to know the person not the post Cat

I know it has always been something that you and I are on opposite opinions about. I *never* seperate the forums from SL. I never have, and I never will. To me they are a part of SL. Always have been. Like a town pub or such. But I've elaborated on that in other threads. At any rate, I don't seperate personalities in world from the forums. If someone were a jerk to me in world, and then tries to come here to the forums and act like they are my friend, I'm certainly going to call them on it. It works both ways for me. Thankfully, I get along with all but a *small* handful of people. So my stance on NOT treating the forums and in-world as seperate has not really hurt me.

Kelley, if you are new, and not an alt, I would say, yeah, with statements like this forming the norm here, you might be right to call the people here "jerks". I used to try to keep the forums and the world separate, until I found not only did people bring their petty inworld disputes to the forums instead of solving them inworld (or getting over themselves), they would take forums anger and direct it at people to destroy their business and reputation inworld. It's a bloody business. You are right to question it and expose it.

Hiya Kelley- Perhaps the proliferation of alts in world and on the forums ganging up on people has made me a bit jaded. But I notice you're listed along with the rest of the crew in Daniel Luchador's profile. Which may go to explain why your posts seem awfully irritated for a newbie. I doubt since your May join date that you've actually met the majority of residents. There's an awful lot of us. The vast Linden board conspiracy plot's wearing a bit thin. Don't dissent, or you're a Linden! Hrm. Are there issues with the forums? Course. We all know that. But I think your motivations appear a bit suspect So what do you LIKE so far about SL? If you want the forums to be more positive, contribute something of interest. If you have constructive commentary on how to make the forums better and want to be taken seriously, less finger pointing would help. Enjoy your SL

Ah, when anyone speaks up they are accused of being an alt. Got it. All of you posters, therefore, are alts. Problem solved. And also tools of the Lindens. I think I'm catching on Or possibly not Now if only I could figure out who this mysterious "they" are, I'd really be set!

Pendari...I would not want to know these people in world and would not do business with them either....thanks to these forums. These are the kind of people I try to avoid in rl also (condesending, arrogant, greedy, manipulating, intimidating, etc etc) Too bad we have to deal with them in here too...but hey, at least they show their true colors in the forums....and Pendari,, I will warn others about you and them also ..so thank you I'm definately a person you want to stay away from...I don't take too much crap.

Speaking of showing true colors I will now warn everyone about Pen: she is mostly, kind, funny, and smart. In my limited experience if she isn't reasonable with you, you mostly deserved it. Please watch out for her. And get to know her if you see her

LOOK YOU TURKEYS! I was accused of being an alt for close to a month! I tell ya, it DOES make you all look like a bunch of jerks! And why did this happen to me? Because I spoke something unpopular! Because I took up for somebody y'all didn't like! Now sweep THAT under the rug all the time, why dontcha? So you can cut OUT this pontificating about how no, no no, none of you nice people would do anything like THAT. You nice people made ME feel TERRIBLE for just saying what I thought! That should give you pause, and make you think twice before soothing yourselves over with all this no we would never do that junk. Cause you would, and you DID, to someone nice - me - and you will do it AGAIN AND AGAIN if you don't acknowledge this propensity for doing it! I mean, try to learn from it at least, will ya? As for separating forums from the game, it's a DARN GOOD THING I DO THAT. I have always done that. BECAUSE - people do a game to play the GAME; people do its forums to fight for what they WANT on the game. That means that someone in game may be awfully different from the way they are when arguing for a cause on the forums. There ARE like, maybe, a handful of people who are so distasteful to me that I do make a mental note of their names as someone that no, I would not want to be friends with. These mainly include people like those who want to shove 9/11 down our throats, etc. Those who might get a tad nasty just while arguing with each other, well, I can understand that. If I DID have some policy about tying what people say on forums to being friends with them in the game, I wouldn't be speaking to the many people here now! Because many of you made my first month here on the forums a living hell! My policy is to realize we all have different goals, different lives, different everything, but most of us are nice, friendly people, albeit sometimes cranky, sometimes slightly crazed, etc., lol, but that is par for the human course. And any nice person in the game, I'm happy to be friends with. (The handful of exceptions I mentioned aren't nice, friendly people in the first place.) Now this is my policy and my approach and the way I have gone about this game despite the long climb up from my initial tarring and feathering from people who should know better. But I'm not going to stand here and listen to people imply that they never do that. coco

I think your barking up the wrong tree in this case Coco. For the record, I myself, have never called you an alt. As far as I can tell, no one is accusing you of that anymore, but milk it if you must.

I am not milking it! If I were gonna milk it, you would have heard just a whole heck of a lot rants from me on the topic! And I know there are people who come on as alts, and sometimes you can't tell, and sometimes it's easy. But I'm sure not gonna stand around while every pats themselves on the back and considers it paranoia in someone else's mind that a perfectly nice people could get on here and have a HORRIBLE time trying to speak honestly. As you may be able to tell, I'm not gonna get over it lightly, and I will not speak of it usually, since I WANT to get over it, and mostly am, but things like "oh we never do this, and you're just ridiculous" bring it right back up. coco
