From: Anshe Chung I don't believe in call out names of people in forums. I also have hope that some people who have been part of this reconsider and change their ways. It seems some already have, others have yet to follow.
But I invite you IM me in world, then I can tell you one list of people who I have seen involved in this. Quote from message #38, this thread posted by Anshe Chung You Named My Name --- And here we are back. It is same old clique who post their bias when it comes to SLExchange and SLB. Because SLB and Gigas and Merwan is part of their clique and SLExchange is not. --- On and on it goes...

Just because I can, IBTL. Other than that, there's nothing constructive to add to a discussion of this ummm, level. I really thought things were simple, again color me naive. Success of any one individual leads to some degree of angst against that individual by those less successful. I'm jealous of all the "big names", can I get in on the conspiracy? Sorry, my sarcasm is lacking pinache

Anshe, could you name people who are members of "The Clique"? I must warn you, this is a trick question. As the originator of the "FIC" myth knew ... once you try to get down to specifics the magic in using labels is gone.
Actually, I kinda like the term "FICque". If we're gonna do anything with our labels, we might as well make them designer. Oh, and I'm beginning to think Anshe doesn't pay her sweatshop horde in peanuts. She pays in popcorn. She certainly seems to be cornering the market on Drahma Food in this thread.

Anshe,
That was a nice revisionist history you posted, complete with reference to the long struggles to free your beloved China that you make central to posts where you are trying to appear to be Anshe, the freedom fighter, whose English suddenly goes down the tubes again. The only problem with it, is you would get remarkably different versions of the story if you spoke to Stroker on the issue of why you were kicked out of Eros, Briana on the subject of Galleria City, and so forth. I am sure Adam Zaius would also have a bit to say about how you behave as a competitor, or Merwan on your honesty when it comes to doing business.
The reason that you are not part of some celebrated circle is because, well, frankly, when someone fucks over friends and business associates, they tend to become a pariah. It is really quite simple. The reason people stand behind Flipper and Jen, the people at Gigas, or just each other in general is because we aren't all trying to one up each other at whatever cost. It is not just about business and profit, and screwing over whoever you have to in order to get to the top.
So while your lastest PR post which is alomst as funny as your tobaccco-industry like truth campaign on your web site that contained several easily disputeable lies, you can spin the story however you wish. As fiction goes, it is fine - if you are presenting it as non-fiction, you better use some of that profit to buy yourself a fact checker. A lot of people have been burned along your meteoric rise, and you can write it off as jealousy and corruption and whatever other falsehoods you need to comfort yourself.

Not that I was around for it, but from what I understand our world was a lot smaller, and a lot closer knit back in Beta. Interestingly, much like the Teen Grid is today (at least from the posted accounts from Armath Severine). The common denominator: the Beta world, and the present-day Teen Grid world - aren't/wern't large enough to support many 'cliques'. The whole world is/was a family, of sorts. Fast forward to the main grid of today.... cliques *do* exist. There isn't one - there are many, and membership in one isn't mutually exclusive to another. What's more - this is natural and normal as our world gets bigger. Don't expect it to stop - there will be more as our world continues to fractionalize and evolve. And - I think that's a *good* thing if we want a rich & diverse world. What I don't believe, is that there is some sort of vast formal conspiracy involving Linden and certain clique(s). Some folks do know how to use the avenues of communication more effectively than others. Some folks even politik to bring their views to the forefront, or care more about drama than others. But *no-one* is restricted from utilizing those same avenues if they choose, contrary to myth. Do some folks tend to be biased about certain buisnesses, individuals and groups in Second Life? You betcha. Its human nature. Especially when it involves someone outside of their 'circle'. Or, maybe I'm just naiive and need to get out more. Could be that too. Meanwhile, I'll stay in my happy little bubble in Isabel.

While we try to define FIC or The Clique it may also be useful to define those who frantically post against them. I think some folks on these forums look at the deep support and comraderie shown between people who SHOULD be vicious competitors, and find themselves baffled. The care we all show for each other doesn't fit into their world view, it simply doesn't compute! Why would Aimee support Camie? Or Torrid support Neph? Or Rickard support Francis? If a genuine care for others is not a common part of your worldview then there can be no other explaination ... it must be CONSPIRACY! Oh Liona, this is for you.

What is thread space being wasted on SLB vs SLEX when we should all be discussing Linden Labs decision to change the auctions and allow certain land barrons to get a stronger strangle hold on the grid.

I think these two statements are so very true of people in SL. I felt they needed to be quoted so I did.

None of this happened because people supported their friends or praised a friend. This didn't just start out of nowhere. This all happened because people decided to do a smear campaign on a business. A business that, as far as I can tell, doesn't deserve it. THAT is what began it. That is what appears, to me, to be indefensible, despite this happy little anti-Anshe gathering going on here now. People dissed a business. Deny that. coco
