blaze,
You have to ease up on these government threads. We have a big announcement coming soon and I want the forum to be fresh. ![]() ~Ulrika~ _____________________

It means endless f*cking threads by you in the forums.
Then people like me complaining about your endless threads. Then you coming back with the usual whiney 'well you don't have to read them' comment. And people call ME a troll. Pfft. At least I'm not like a parrot imitating a broken record. And oh certainly Ulrika ma'am, yes Ulrika ma'am, we'll stop talking on governments instantly so as not to minimize the impact of your announcement. *runs off to start another 5 useless f*cking polls on governments* |

I agree with you more than you know, Kris.
It would be really nice if when you put someone on ignore you don't see their threads. God knows, I've wanted that functionality for a very long time. It would also keep griefers coming into threads and constantly saying STFU. _____________________

Fair enough, I probably have posted more than my share here. Going forward, I'll dial it back a bit.
However, it is a topic extremely rich in content and material and I'm sorry to see that a lot of people seem to be missing out on what is happening here simply because they are tired of thinking about the subject. _____________________

No, Blaze. People are sick of it because you're cheapening the issue. Even though we know it is important, you've made everyone so apathetic to it that people can't be bothered to hear or say any more on the subject. Especially when the people who speak in favor of it all seem to have their own personal agendas as reasons for wanting it, and appear to be the least likely candidates ever for being a part of it if it even happened. And of course anyone who speaks against it is automatically a 'griefer'. "people are missing out on what is happening"?! No one will miss out. And nothing is actually happening. Apart from maybe in your head. Government is not going to happen overnight without consultation. Even if the Lindens do propose it, it's going to go to a world wide vote unless they are mind numbingly stupid. It's not going to be left to the (probably less than) 2% of residents who bother to respond on the forums to decide. And it's not going to change a damned thing to endlessly go over the same tired shit and speculate and argue the same tired points like you do, because the people that matter - the people that will vote on it, don't even read the damned forums. Are you REALLY surprised that people want you to STFU? When the Lindens want to clarify the situation and talk about it, well then I'm sure more people will be interested. As it is, there really doesnt seem to be anything left for you or anyone else to say on the matter that hasnt been said a dozen times before. Which is why we're bored stupid by it. |

I suggest that is something about gov't hasn't been brought up it should. I also think Kris has a lot of valid points about the majority of what ppl think in these forums and react.
For now take a little break from it and if something happens (something always happens) bring your concerns up. Hugz ya I know its hard sometimes. Cat _____________________

No need to be rude, Kris. I agreed with your point. *rereads post* At what point was I rude? You really need to get a thicker skin if you think any of THAT was rude. That was me with my kid gloves on and on my best behaviour because I've seen your reaction to people who try to get a differing point across and I didn't want you crying about it. The rudest thing I've said to you was in the post before that, where I accuse you, fairly, I think, of being " like a parrot imitating a broken record." And I made all of my last post related to what you said to 'agree with my point'. So no need to be dismissive of it. But I digress. I think you're right. I think the best thing to do is put you on mute. Because you're not interested in a discussion at all. You've shown time and again that you simply don't know how. |

part 1
i completely agree with proponents of localized governments and zoning rules. they would provide a wonderful option for players who would wish to trade up some personal freedoms in favour of some benefits of quality, predictability, and harmony. anyone out there still disagrees on the idea of an optional government and still continue to "pound their chest" against any for of government for anyone is against peoples freedom to choose and thus an ignorant autocrat! i don't care if you think it won't work you nut job skeptic, i heard you 5 weeks ago. stop trying to prevent the people of action from experimenting you boor! ======================================================= part 2 i am completely out for an over arching governement. this would destroy the heterogeneity of the game, creating a singular will. this is not what i signed up for in SL or RL. anyone out there who disagrees and is still "pounding on their chest" for an overarching government is against peoples freedom to choose and thus anignorant autocrat. i don't care if you think it will make SL more democratic and give power back to the people. stop tryig to run peoples second life you boor! _____________________

kris,
isn't it hypocritical for you to ask blaze to stfu when you could just ignore him? isn't that the advice you give people who take issue with your spamming, hijacking and trolling? thank you for your time jauani _____________________

Because you're not interested in a discussion at all. You've shown time and again that you simply don't know how. I thought the consensus was for me to stop discussing? Truly, I'd love to engage in discussion with you Kris. IM me in world and we can chat. But for now, I think your original point about people getting tired of my threads is correct. I got excited, as people tend to do, about a very exciting idea and got a little over enthusiastic. Hopefully - no harm done. _____________________

kris, isn't it hypocritical for you to ask blaze to stfu when you could just ignore him? isn't that the advice you give people who take issue with your spamming, hijacking and trolling? thank you for your time jauani It would be hypocritical if true, sure. But I haven't actually told him to STFU. I personally wish he would - sure. But I haven't told him to. I merely told him why I think people feel the way they do about the issue and his insistence on constantly ramming it down everyones throats. Unfortunately everyone, however moronic, has a right to say what they want here. He asked a question ("What does a player government mean to you?" , and I answered it with my opinion. And yes, for my own sanity I shall put him on ignore as I said in my last post. |

I will repeat what I have said on countless threads before, which is:
No resident run government/judicial system overall in SL. If you want to create or participate in such a thing, go buy a sim and and play government there. These posts are relentless and we all say the same thing over and over and over again. It is highly unlikely that anyone will change their mind. As for Ulrika demanding the forum be kept clear of these discussions for her major announcement - the words I would like to use are not printable here, if I do not wish to be banned. Believe me, I am tempted. Latonia |

"other"
Non-existant. Any player-run Gov't will be nothing but a bunch of self-rightous busybodies that can not keep their noses out of other people's business. -Ghoti [edited t ofit better with the poll question] _____________________

i think ulrika's schedule was very insightful.
it acknowledges the importance of place in establishing boundaries for the "who's in" club of the sovereign nation. the persistant virtual architecture serves to unify sovereignty to sim. you can't inspire with plywood castles ![]() _____________________

I want player government to be exactly what it will be: an excercise in futility with a main effect of shutting up the people who are screaming for player government.

The thing is..who in their right mind is gonna pay a monthly fee to be part of a player ran government anyway? I know I do not want to pay to work lol. I may dance for money..but I consider dancing and entertainment fun..not being a Mayor or Governor.
The only real hope in my opinion to have an effective Government will stim from the staff of Linden Labs or a division of that. Though they do have volunteers. But when you hold office in a government..you don't get to log in or out when you want. You have to be at work on time..and there are schedules to abide by just like any other (JOB). _____________________
