ll and griefers

Likely nothing as they haven't done a damn thing about it in two years. Was it Christ who said "love the grief, love the griefer?"

A friend reports having been shot at continuously for about an hour yesterday by an extremely bad shot. Notably, he was in the process of subdividing land in order to tier down, in part because of disgust over this exact scenario.

Abuse reports don't work, and when people find themselves without a sheriff to keep the peace, they resort to vigilanteism. That, however, Linden Lab does seem - ironically - to care about. I'm sure there's some sort of California Politically Correct morality in operation here that says essentially "outlaw defenses, give outlaws guns". Sorta reminscent of the SanFran philosophy on the homeless: "we don't care how much they reduce the quality of citizen's lives but we dasn't infringe on the quality of their's".

I've adopted the stance that LL must enjoy griefers; it is certainly consistent with their implicit and explicit actions. Sigh.

Try attending an event like a live musical performance or, better still, try hosting a radical event like show-and-tell you'll see griefers and plenty of them. Or, try to build something of any complexity on an open platform at ground level in a sleepy backwater nowhere of a sim.

I never go to clubs, but I've been shot at a whole bunch. Then again, I've been beating this dead horse for over a year now. I must be really stupid or idealistic, or both.
