Jauani, I think you misunderstood the statement...

It wasn't JUSTICE...

It was "JUST US".

Sheesh, get it right. ;-)

Considering you are in this group, Flipper - an officer, I believe - why do you go to such trouble to tear down the group by making remarks like this?

The discussion or focus of these groups (or atleast some of them) is a means of getting some insight into the direction of SL. There is no "DO AS I SAY OR DIE" here. Make your suggestion but don't expect anyone to listen. Same as making a vote on a proposition and dealing with the fact that it won't be heard as stated on site.

Philip Linden visits the Welcome Area at times. He enjoys speaking with the community. Getting an understanding of what and how people are thinking about SL. He speaks with newcomers and asks them if they know what they are doing. Getting a taste of the community so to speak. Even Philip himself gets involved into the insight of SL and this is no different from a group of people discussing SL even if it is discussing the future of SL.

LL's will handle the progression of SL to the best of their abilities. They will certaintly not let it become corrupted or what not so I would not expect any more harm being done to it than there has been.

I used to care about the direction of SL. I wasn't even that deeply involved in the politics at any point, but I brushed close enough to it to realize that it was pointless, self-destructive, and for the most part self-serving. Driven by people who thought more of their own power and opinion than was usually warranted, with more emotion invested in their own perspective than should be healthy for us sane folk.

After the last furor with the anti-FIC FIC trying to refashion themselves and do the same things they accused the FIC of doing, I gave up.

I don't care any more.

With apologies to Bob Dylan:

People are crazy and times are strange
I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range
I used to care, but things have changed

This place ain't doing me any good
I'm in the wrong town, I should be in Hollywood
Just for a second there I thought I saw something move
Gonna take dancing lessons do the jitterbug rag
Ain't no shortcuts, gonna dress in drag
Only a fool in here would think he's got anything to prove.

Now I'm just hanging, waiting for the next train out.
