Oh he was fully aware of it - he would often rant that the FIC leverage their free 4096m tier to shocking advantage over those who don't have it. He was also outraged that everyone that had a premium pre-1.2 gets 1024m of tier included instead of 512.

ya ya, and they don't appreciate it, yada yada yada.

But here they go, creating YET ANOTHER over-privileged resident who won't appreciate what an unfair advantage they have.

I'm suprised that nobody has commented on the last sentence of rule 18.

The total number of L$ stipends any Resident may receive on a weekly basis is L$500.

This is in reference to the winner of the 'Charter Account', but is worded to apply to EVERYONE with more than one account.

The way I read it, it say that regardless of the number of alts you have, you are entitled to a max L$500 basic stipend per resident.

So what are LL going to do about all the residents with 1 or more premium account alts that currently get L$500 per week per alt?

What about the 'scammers' that deliberately purchase alts to farm the stipends?

No, but - when LL uses "Resident", they generally mean "account" - even if you're on the same card, no way to tell if two actual RL people are behind two "alt" accounts - could be a couple, after all!

The MotD shown while logging in encourages us to log in as many instances as we can anyway, so the alt argument is kinda moot...

I'm not questioning the 'legality' (for want of a better word) of having several alts, just that in the the log-a-thon rules where they're talking about one resident owning two 'charter' accounts they make a point of saying that an individual resident is allowed a max stipend of L$500 per week...

There are only two stipend levels, $50 for basic accounts, L$500 for premium and charter. Maxium stipend does not come into the equation unless they are refering to one person with several alts and adding those stipends together.

As far as families using one card, they have said before that they know the difference between that and one person with alts. They haven't said how, but I assume a lot of trust in the provided account information comes into it somewhere.

I got mine the last day they offered them (225$), which was shortly after the 2003 holiday season, if my memory serves me correctly, and mine says Charter.
