I'm not talking about wet t-shirt bling yardsale tringo, I'm talking about a real event. Something that takes time to prepare for. Here's what I have...
Invasion: A massive demonbeast (Dwellnor) has risen from below, (The Server Layer) and is attacking sims! You must do your part by equipping weapons given to you by LERT (Linden Emergency Responce Team), grab whatever vehicle you can find, and RIDE INTO BATTLE fighting a horde of ten-meter tall monsters controlled by chaotic AI or even other players. Meanwhile, volunteers of LERT will ventur into the Server layer to destroy Dwellnor's server!
SL Monopoly: Mark off places on the grid, as locations, either have scripted vehicles or people at all the spots that can TP people in. We'd have to settle the logistics, but you could earn cash prizes.
Monster Chess: I would be easy to adapt for giant peices. Just get some people who like to play chess.
EVERYTHING ELSE: Explained in the poll options.

You're onto something here. Although, for the Second Life of me, I don't know why Dwellnor would be attacking sims.

How about if Cthulhu suddenly rises from one of the SL oceans and starts attacking everybody in sight, or hostile aliens land and start zapping and/or capturing everyone, and uh-oh! Just at that moment the teleport system suddenly and inexplicably fails... Adventure! Excitement! Fun for hours!

I always wanted a team airship battle across all six sims of the vehicle park. If you've ever seen Sky Captain or the Last Exile anime's, you'd have an idea what I'm talking about - flying among thunderclouds, huge batteries of cannons pounding at each other, biplanes darting among the behemoths trying to score hits on the floatation devices, boarding parties, that sort of thing. Never quite got there, but the biplane dogfights last year were a lot of fun.

Because Dwellnor is an elder god.. the priests of the cult of Dwellnor gather and chant, and when the prims are right he shall rise and eat the entire grid.. Duh.. Don't they teach you this at Lindatonic U? Hmm a huge event -- something to plan for.... 'SL - The Vagina Monologues' I mean I'd have to build an ark and gather the prims 2 by 2 before the giant flood of estrogen drowned us all Siggy.

Damn. Got posts before I could finish the poll or outline all the options. I'm working on a largish (one linked set) ship for something like this. I'd like to see a non-bullet based combat scoring system that can account for factions and players.

Could we find enough players that were interested in participating in something like that?

From: Altruima Linden You're onto something here. Although, for the Second Life of me, I don't know why Dwellnor would be attacking sims. Dwellnor is fed by dwell. BUT... lately, with afects to the dwell, and with people bunching up in different places, he has decided to harvest the dwell directly out of the AVs themselvess. (he doesn't get, exactly, what dwell is, or how it works, like alot of us don't), So he pops up, and starts trying to eat avs, or just camp in dwell-prone places to get a better meal. As for the spiders and other monsters, the 'Backend" alternate grid, well, we can just throw in some cheap reasons why they're there. The real trick, would be a low-lag combat system, using sanctioned (non AV-harming) weapons and vehicles. At the end of the day, people that scored the most kills will be ranked, paid a little penance, etc, etc. We'd also have to diable site-to-site teleports for the sims in the event, telehub access only.

From: Nolan Nash ALL HAIL DWELLNOR! They're wearing too many clothes to be servants of Dwellnor.. for as we know they worship the great prim patterns of Yog-Slingo in their ceremonial thongs and cut-twisted-tori headresses of NyarlaHootchie-tep....

Yes, Dwellnor is fed by Dwell. However - the problem arises when *Laggnor* realizes you've been worshiping a god other than him, and smites you accordingly. Laggnor also smites randomly unless a daily sacrifice is offered. Praise be to Laggnor!

I'd like to see something like the (really old) Missile Command arcade video. "Nuclear war, toe-to-toe" across the grid, complete with ICBM's, IRBM's, manned bombers, interceptors, anti-missile sites, gravel shield systems, orbital laser systems... and a lot of really big "he blowed that up" mushroom clouds. And flying prims, and particle clouds of dust and radiation....

Well. As far a vehicle combat i'm overhauling my previous Prim Reaper design to something that makes more sense. I'm reworking my FreakRocket to handle better, with more options, and will be making a disposable (damagable) combat variant to go with the Prim Reaper. The Reaper will also have associated Crew Gear like hoverpacks, light weapons, etc.
I have a bounty out on some mounted turrets, and hope to see something on that, Ideally I want a five person crewed vehicle launching freakrockets for other players. I've see large ships being constructed some months ago, whatever became of those?
Could we actually find people willing to use sanctioned weapons instead of one-shot deloggers I keep seeing? Would anyone willingly nerf their gear and vehicles for a fair combat scenario, and how do we keep griefers out?

. I've always thought it would be interesting to see an Academy Awards type event. Awards for the different projects, creations ect. Red carpet, interviews down by the various in game news people, streaming video feeds for the folks who can't get in. Everyone getting dressed up. Voting & nominations done "People's Choice" style to hopefully stop a few of the cries of favoritism. Mostly I think it'd just be interesting to see people get the props they deserve for creating content that adds to the game. Never probably happen but I think it'd be a cool event. -Sun

Never quite got there, but the biplane dogfights last year were a lot of fun. Well, it is certainly possible; I've worked up a plane armed with particle cannons, prim cannons, rockets, missiles, bombs and airmines, and when it takes damage, it actually crashes-- and I'm not even a wonderful scripter (but it sure is fun learning). To be honest, though, it is more of a pet project and is a bit too complex for newbs to fly, so it likely won't be released. My point is that interesting and dynamic vehicles are out there with more than just simple particle guns. Combine that with the huge capital ships that folks have developed and all using a common combat system, and voila. I've seen working turrets slaved to a single gunner in the sandboxes, as well as capships capable of (limited) movement, even nicely done prim-based dynamic nuclear mushroom clouds. Good times to be had by all! We just need someone to collect all that into a common combat system. =) Imagine flying through dense airbursts to drop that photon torpedo down the exhaust port of the... wait, someone's covered that one. I wonder if it'd be possible to develop an open protocal (protocol?) to allow weapon designers to collaborate on damage systems for complex combats such as this. Would there be a way to get around the inevitable idiot who programs his bullets for a million damage?

A very cool idea - however we know from RL history what happened on the first day of National Brotherhood Week... Siggy (Ok, I'll tell you... Malcolm X was assassinated.. which kinda put a damper on festivities).

I assume we mean a 4 SIM corners event?
- Id discussed this with a coupel of the live performers here. Though we would need more "ACTS"
But an outdoor COncert featuring Live performers would be a very neat , very non violent Event.
I think we could showcase some other SL entertainment, such as made in SL movies, etc.
Well that would be my pick. None of the Vote choices seemed to have anything to do with that.

It's got to be opt in, or you get massive complaints.
I think LL should add a PvP flag to your account preferences, and if it is set you can't abuse report people who also have the PvP flag set.
Oh yeah, and there should be a 24-48 hour lag time before your PvP flag turns off.

He goes mad? evil twin? turned to the DARK SIDE? or some other excuse for him to atack us and we fight back to either kill him/the twin or if it was him he surrenders or something i dunno i just had to go for the war and battle options because Rule of Acquisition number 35.
