This is just pure unreasonable,
Most of us have been around the block more then once,
skins are beautiful things, made by awesome people, okay so if its all PG, there can't be thongs, sheer underwear, or anything of the sort,
If it truely is PG then there should be no allowance of undergarmets at all in the clothing forum, somehow I get the feeling this is suposed to be family oriented,
I feel so much for the people who's skin pictures have been removed, they're truely works of art,
So I vote yes on mature,
One by one we'll all be masacured by the cupcake ninja's they send after me, o.o

Yes ... someone must have been offended  The Lindens have always said that they weren't going to go around censoring people, in terms of fuck this and screw that (fuck YOU, however, has always been deleted). But in terms of skins, I don't see why we should be censored. The Gallery's full of mature images too.

My question is...why all of a sudden is it not ok to show AV skins? I have not been here all that long...but have seen many designers post thier new skins to show people. SL is "suppose" to be an adult world, if and "adults" have issues with "adult" topics or pictures, they should find a PG game that has none of the above in, there are many out there, you just need to look for em.

The Forums (along with the rest of the Second Life web site) have always had a PG-rating (per the SL Community Standards). This doesn't mean that you are not able to post your skin, it just means means if you were advertising a skin in the classifieds forum, you would need to cover up the non-PG areas with either clothing or a 'black bar.'

But question, is this "rule" for pics with links to nude avatars or pics that shown instant you go into a post? I thought SL was just for 18+ do the teengrid people even have access to these?, doubt that, why are people sooo scared of nakedness, i can swear cuss and say rude things, i can blow up people and show their parts all over, but a nude pic omg no! Exactly.... this is just silly. The forums are (supposedly) only accessible by residents, and all residents (supposedly) must be over 18, so what's the problem? Why do we need to be afraid of nudity? We've always had nude pics of skins here, if you have a link to go to the pic, and the pic isn't embedded in the post, what's wrong with that? Hey, here's an idea... if people are so offended by nudity they can just NOT CLICK THE LINK. Wow, that's so simple that it's probably a bad idea! Much better to just remove all nudity everywhere! Something like this is going to hurt business for skin designers. I would never buy a female skin without seeing what the nipples, etc. look like first.... if you have to go inworld and go to the shop to see the uncensored pic, some people aren't going to want to bother. How about we leave the mature content in linked pictures, and anybody who's bothered by it stays the hell out of that thread? Sounds reasonable to me.... either that, or hey, let's go all the way and take down the forums for a day or two so the censors can go through every thread and remove all the mature language, and take out all the nude pics in the gallery.... then it'll all be nice and clean and bland, and there'll be nothing to offend anybody at all. Sheesh. I say, more nude pics! The human body is an amazing thing, and the professionally done skins available in SL are real works of art worthy of being shown off. Anybody who isn't mature enough to be able to deal with seeing a simple nude snapshot, and who would rather wipe it all out than let anybody else see it, is perhaps in the wrong game.

Two things I'd like to ask for clarity, please:
-Just like we have PG and M sims inworld, what's the possibility of having an M area of the SL Forums? (Not that I would want to add to moderation burden if things get out of hand, but specifically for the purpose of posting things like skins in the nude.)
-Can outbound links to a skin creator's website be posted, where images do appear in the nude? As in, a PG "teaser" version is posted on here, and the M one follows after the hyperlink?

Oh yes, despite what I said about our little nude avatars on the TSO boards, I voted for the forums to be a PG area.
The reason I did this is not because we aren't (presumably) all over 18.
I did this for the same reason I appreciate the game itself being divided into PG and Mature areas, despite the fact that we are (presumably) all over 18.
Real life is itself divided into mature and PG areas, and I appreciate that. I spend very little time in "mature" areas such as topless nightclubs (though I did go to one in the Bahamas), or adult book stores.
For the same reason, I prefer not to be assaulted by "adult" content wherever I turn, either irl, in the game, or on the forums.
Might I add there is some difference between the statue of David and some of the nude avatars I have seen in the game.

P.S. Much as I hate to say so, the discourse of the forums would be quite a bit less aggressive if the four-letter words were disallowed, and as a result, would actually be quite a bit more adult.

This measure was completely uncalled for. I agree with Torley's suggestion that there should be a "Mature" area of the forums where we can paste whatever we want.
