I understand why some designers make their objects 'no copy'... it's the 'no transfer' that seems to be an issue. How does a person do a return or an exchange without being able to transfer the item back?

Awhile back I had bought a set of skins for $5K and the skin ended up being too light for the effect I had wanted with the makeup. Spending that much money for something I wasn't happy with was a big deal to me. I IM'd the creator and asked if I could exchange the set I had bought for the next shade up. She said that they were no transfer and let me know that there were demos in the store that I should have tried. I mentioned that I hadn't noticed them because they were not located by the set of skins I had bought. She said she would make sure to put some demos by that particular set. She apologized for not making it more noticable and sent me 2 demo skins to try. I then chose the one I liked better and she then sent me the entire set. She was very helpful and I more than appreciated her time in making sure I was happy and I will definately shop there in the future. * thanks again Starley ;) *

The point to that story is I would have loved to have transferred the skins back to her so that they wouldn't go to waste and they could be resold...but I couldn't :(

There's no way to make everyone happy with permissions. Most creators have put a lot of thought into their permissions, and they have good reasons for the permissions they choose.

As a buyer, you have a choice whether you want to purchase an item or not, and you have every right to include permissions as part of your choice. If you don't want items that are No Transfer, don't buy them, or contact the creator and see if they'd be willing to offer you another version. Buyers do have some responsibility to make sure they're getting what they want. I have No Transfer on everything in my store, and a sign in the only entryway explaining my perms and how to get different perms, and people still buy first and read later. I highly recommend people check stuff like perms and demos and such before they spend the money.

Personally, I don't purchase items that are No Modify unless I can tell there's a very good reason for those perms. That's my choice as a buyer. I don't purchase high cost items without seeing some examples first.

Does it ever end?

Yesterday I got an IM from someone asking me for a landmark to my shop, they said they have purchased some of my animations and there were others they wanted to get but didnt get them at the time of thier visit... so I pass them a landmark, and they said oh wow, theres way more selections at this location, (my shop in le cadre, my ONLY shop).

I said hmmm.. you sure it was me? because this is my only location, she said yes and that I was shown as the creator, so I had her show me them , and sure enough they were my creations, but she bought them at some "castle looking store" for double the price I charge for them! :( Wtf is wrong with people these days?
