Really - If the Lindens are doing this to Ace and the bloody tier means this much to them and it's not a technical issue then I am SO seriously disillusioned with SL of late. Sigh.... :( :( :(

Please IM me Leck if there is any possible way that I can help I will.

Also please give Ace my love if you speak with him.

Please please please people don't turn this into a drama fest.
The memorial means a lot to me as it is what got me to join SL after reading about it in Hamlet's NWN. Ace means alot to me in SL and RL as a personal friend. Please don't turn this into a drama war.

IMHO, do what any upstanding resident would in this situation, Lecktor:

Talk with Robin. Explain the situation, why Ace can't get in-world, and offer a solution to the problem (as posited here). Robin has been, in my dealings with her, very open if asked politely.

With something as high profile as the Iraqi War Memorial, I would go with the "we will pay his tier" and/or the "please retain his account in the database until he is well." This isn't really asking much, so it's very likely a solution can be worked out.

As for threads like this... meh. I dislike "public shaming" threads without taking more action than "I talked with a Liason and -."

Edit: What Cristiano said. ---v

I agree - this is something that should be handled privately with the Lindens at this point. Lecktor, please contact Robin or Philip and see if it can be resolved.

Thank you for your input Jeffrey. I was not the OP and had not decided to do this. I had every intention of contacting Robin but in the time it took me to get home from work this was already posted. I do appreciate everyone's concern. I just ask to not let this get out of hand.

Edit- In Response to this thread title.

Cienna shame on you for slandering LL in a public thread when you do not know all the facts first.

Wrong. The simple fact is, LL stated they won't transfer the items until/unless the tier payment is made. Considering that all accounts on the matter clearly indicate the items were to be transferred with the sale, I think LL's response is churlish at best.

I hope another try with LL will bring better results.

Lecktor, for all it's worth, I would help you in any way possible.

Money, land contribution or rebuilding the memorial. I admire your nobility, Sir!

This issue has been resolved in a most gracious and acceptable manner by LL! Please no more lambasting of LL here. They stood by me and took care of things as they always have in my SL experience ! Thank you all for the support and advice!

Uplifting, Leck! I remember visiting that war memorial almost a year ago (along with Tribal Drums, and the totem project, and other good memories). In this situation, patient persistence has plowed through with positivity! :D

This is fantastic news! I would also like to make a donation to see that this noble endeavour continues.

Just visit the memorial at ganymede 226,35
There are marble spheres that will take your donation that will be given to charities associated with the sources of data for this tribute. There is a notecard on a leftclick explaining it all as well as an invite to our friends of the Iraqi War Memorial group. We will have approriate memorial events in the future as has been done in the past here. Thank you for your support.

Gift Certificates
09-29-2005 17:27
For What it is worth, we could purchase $10 gift certificates and try to pool them to pay the oustanding tier balance, then get into the account and make the nessesary transfers. I have spoken to lilone, ill but some of aces stuff to keep them, alive in SL

EDIT Sprung into action without reading the full threat, figured it would just be inside jokes and insults by now. Glad to see it has been taken care of.

While I am glad that LL have sorted this out now, I am also VERY glad that they only did so after a few days of negotiation. Had they just complied immediately, we would all be jumping up-and-down about how unsafe our inventories were.
Well handled, everyone involved.
