G4TV is a cable channel that is geared towards people who play video games. http://www.g4tv.com It used to be TechTV I believe. |

Well the answer is bedazzling me; leaving me spellbound. Hahaha... that's such a glittery answer. We need more magical content creation groups in SL... it'd be like the next generation too, not any slight to the old veterans but a sign of inspiration and descendancy of art! w00t! That being said, I became unhappy after TechTV and G4 got together and some of my fave computer personalities got laid off. This disappointed me grievously, because Leo LaPorte (one of the unfortunate) was such a champ and chose to go. I had a time where I watched TechTV religiously. Other fave personalities of mine included Morgan Webb, Kevin Rose, and Sarah Lane. Things moved on tho... So, that being said, I'm kind of skeptical of how G4TV is currently being run and what they're really out to achieve. I didn't like their focus on gaming at the exclusion of other things computers, and heck, even video game consoles can be used for. It felt less diverse, more cramped, and well—antithetical to SL's own approach. Nevertheless, I am optimistic— I just wish the SL Residents featured in this upcoming show all the best and hope they have a good time. Fun first, and the money is a bonus. _____________________

now, on the other hand, i never watched TechTV.. but, did watch G4 for quite some time before "the merge". and honestly, the G4 camp lost out, too.
i mean really.. why do we have shows about "blingin" cars and crap?!? i miss Supercade! it was all so much geekier, in a good way, for both camps. also, as far as i know, Screen Savers is still on. at least reruns, not sure if there's new episodes or not though. - but, back on topic, this is a great opportunity! SL hasn't been at the forefront so much ever since Portal went the way of the Dodo bird (which is another massive bummer) and this will be great! i can't help but wonder who'll end up on the show as well. (this would be a great opportunity to try to wriggle in an SL promo video from what's been submitted, yes?) and i'd like to wish the builders good luck and congrats, not to mention to whoever gets on as well.  _____________________

The good news here is:
"If you'd like to participate . . . " This is a heads-up, guys, rather than an after-the-fact posting of who was chosen behind the scenes. At this stage of the game, it matters less who is chosen than the fact that it is open to all. And by "all," note that one does not have to be part of a group to try out for this. Individuals may also apply! If things are handled like this - and everyone is given an opportunity to at least try to participatein things - for oh, say six months or a year or so, and the only people ever chosen for any of it are always Bedazzled, then we can complain about who they choose. For now, the fact that everyone has an equal chance at it is totally wonderful. coco _____________________

oh.. crap.. that's aggravating.
on one hand, it sounds like a funny idea.. if it was on SLTV and had commentary to make it apparent that it was meant in a humorous fashion. ..BUT, it's not. instead it's a one-off SL version of Punk'D?!? with Attack of the show at the helm, instead of the hands of SLers.. i don't know. it could fall either way.. i just hope that after all is said and done that it doesn't leave a bad taste in my mouth. the best neighborly response would be one of two.. either: 1) LAG PARTY!!! *evil smirk* or.. 2) no response. leave 'em hanging. (i suppose it would be funny to watch a provoked response though..)  _____________________
