Shift somewhat to the south east, or due south of Japan, it's my poor excuse for a transliteration of Mandarin. I only really learned to read the characters, I never did get much of a grasp on the various systems of phoneticizing the language using a Roman alphabet. Lumi _____________________

Definitely not Japanese. _____________________

Yeah, Lumiere and Sinclair are chatting in Chinese, using something that resembles the pinyin transliteration.
I remember Wednesday's "I'm leaving" post from last year. I had only just recently joined the SL beta, and was completely taken in; I thought it didn't bode well for the game that someone was leaving in frustration already. |

Back in college I took Mandarin as an elective and studied the Ping Ying system, but I've lost it over the years, especially since I relied on the characters and the Taiwanese phonetic system. Take a look at Rosetta Stone software, it's the best. It's about as expensive as a class though (well maybe cheaper).

Well then you're screwed
![]() j/k Why don't you try a Yahoo Japan voice chat room? =) Might be tough to get around the interface and get it working but I'm sure it's possible. Of course, there's no guarantee they won't laugh at you too. ![]() _____________________
