I'M NOT VALUED OTHERS ARE VALUED MORE THAN ME IT'S NOT FAIR THAT I'M NOT VALUED WHY DOES NO ONE VALUE ME WHEN THEY VALUE OTHERS ITS A MISERABLE WORLD WHERE I'M NOT VALUED BUT OTHERS ARE VALUED INSTEAD WHY AM I NOT VALUED...

...ad nauseam.

Pretty sure you are right about the bank. It looks pretty clear that they're looking for people who worked on it and things like it and liked it.

Count me in. A lot of stuff I've done has been in-world (U2 in SL) but more hasn't (Silver Bells & Golden Spurs, a teensie bit of the bank, other stuff that hasn't seen the light of day).

If I'm to be hired to go out-world, (or otherwise), then listing those credentials is important to both myself and the people who seek people with my experience. By meeting me in-world you wouldn't know who I am. My profile mentions nothing about scripting or animation and except for U2inSL, Mood Mixer, Turquoise, and a few trinkets my skills are invisible.

So all I can really say is if you want to be on the list you should submit and see what happens. But remember, you won't get every job you apply for. Maybe I won't either, can't hurt to try.

No - as I pointed out in the Hotline, the bank types of jobs wouldn't be something I could do (or would want to do) at this time. I haven't done any commercial builds, and though I might be interested in it some time in the distant future, I'm just houses for now, and only interested in houses. So I'm pretty sure this wouldn't be anything for me to apply for. If it were something we use ourselves to find people to do jobs, then yes, I would apply for it, and put it under Residential Housing.

or c) That this is the start of the formal developer program, which you were so pleased that was announced when you started the uproar about Bedazzle. Not everything can be done by committee and prize - nothing will ever get done. I applaud LL for taking the steps to move forward with this program, I look forward to seeing what they are going to do. I do imagine ever step will be second guessed, but at least they are making an effort.

If indeed that is what it is, Cristiano.

I thought it wasn't at first, but as I wrote my questions out again for the Hotline, I started thinking, what else could it be? This just has to be for the use of that, and not really a directory for us to use, in nearly all cases, anywa. I suppose one could consult it for one's little job, but likely whoever is listed on it will be busy with bigger jobs.

The reason I thought it was a directory for us at first is probably because someone, somewhere back down the line, had posted about how she was going to start a directory, and then someone posted that the Lindens were going to do the same thing.

But - I don't think it is really going to be the same thing. Hopefully the answer to my hotline questions will clarify that. If it is just for those big jobs, then it won't be for me.

And hopefully it won't be used INSTEAD of all the neat contests they do, like the railway station one, but just for the special big things, like the bank job. (And every time I say that, I think of a heist or something, lol.) Having contests for the smaller things is still a good idea.

And naturally, I agree not everything can be done by committee. There was no pejorative intended when I said having this would save time. If it is just for things like the bank job, then - as I said earlier - it will save time. It was a statement of fact.

If all the above is true, I should probably track down that original person who said she was starting her own directory, rather than waiting for this one, which is what I was doing.

We will know when my hotline post is answered.

Interesting idea. I would be very hesitant to list my RL phone number however.

I had just posted it when I posted above, Cienna. I don't expect an instant answer, even if today weren't Sunday. Give them some time, and don't assume there is some kind of Linden conspiracy to not answer Coco's questions, because there is not.

Sure wish you'd make up your mind, tootz. You flip-flop more than any person I have ever witnessed, outside of politicans.

In addition to which, there is no vinegar in my questions; only in your own mind.

Riiiight.

Update: Gaz's hotline question, apparently from a couple of days ago, has been answered. And it sounds like this IS something an individual home builder could put in for! Read it and let me know if you think that's right.

(Poor Gaz also got a sound speaking-to for daring to call SL a game.)

Flip-flopped on what? When I said no further info was forthcoming? That's because it wasn't - either in this thread or in announcements, or anything.

OK, Toots?

To you, looks like you're right, tootz. In case you missed it previously, the reason is what I was speaking to... you sure you don't want to use that link I shared with you a few threads ago? Seems you could really benefit from it.

As for flip-flopping, I gave up on your ability to grasp your own dissonance long ago.

Just be sure to bow with your arse pointing away from me. I'm not sure I could resist the temptation to plant my size 9 in it otherwise.

Amusing. Men have penis envy, women, shoe. Well, most women. For myself, I chuckle and wonder how bad your arthritis will be in 30 years from that "Size 5". (chuckle)

Point of fact, my feet have always been problematic. Too much dancing, too tight toe shoes. I think it stunted their growth.
