In the User Agreement it says you need to be a North American (US or Canada) resident to play, and by accepting the agreement you confirm that you are that.

Wouldn't it be illegal for a non-North American to play?

Just asking because I'm Norwegian myself and haven't agreed to the User Agreement, but want to try Second Life out :)

I suspect this is left over from beta days - when I first tried SL out about a year and a half ago you could not register if non-US. They asked for a 5 digit zip code - not that it stopped me cos I just borrowed a friend's :D
Anyway as they do have the option to put in your country and they accept non US postcodes and credit cards I assume this part is outdated.

Caio's post was from September 2003. The non US bit isn't in the tos anymore.

Birmingham, UK. I think the Brit membership's quite high, as during one of the town halls a few months ago the UK was stated as one of the highest non-US users.

(All IIRC, of course...)
