UO had ineffectual game masters that couldn't do anything.
EQ had smarmy, egotistic powergamers in the same role.
TSO was so lawless that people were impersonating Maxis employees with impunity (there was no employee marker that I could tell, when i played at launch).
DAOC had the same issues EQ and UO have.
The only company that came close was A Tale in the Desert, but that's only because they had a workforce of like, six, and a server population of maybe 1500 people total.
SL is the only game, indeed, probably the only semi-major online medium where you can email/call/chat with the CEO of the company and expect a RESPONSE. They have helpful lindens on call 24/7. All of the lindens I've chatted to have been helpful and friendly.
It probably helps that the lindens really love their job... talk to any of them about the underlying principles of SL and they get all starry eyed and excited... it's cute

If anything, SL needs slightly worse customer service, so folks don't expect the moon of them every day.
