From: Sensual Casanova but I guess since you cant read it on the forums, we all just sit back and bitch? Pretty much, concidering that the bugs being fixed this time were also being covered by another batch of people who've been sitting on the lindens via email, phone, bug reports and what-not to get it fixed. I'm pointing out how nifty it is that the people who wanted these features to be fixed are now mostly shutting up and not supporting LL, leaving only the people who are still on the queue to sit and bitch and moan. 'fraid you cant argue with this one. Booya.

Sensual, this is not directed at you, seems like you have valid fustration. Unfortunetly for you it does not seem to be a wide spread problem so LL probably does not have it on the top of the list.
BUT, you people complaining because there was down time. SHUT UP. Take a walk outside in real life or something. Get your fat butts out of your worn in computer chairs and pull yourself away from the computer. Every game has down time during updates.
Teleport was borked, it was the main complaint, so they are trying to fix it. I fail to see what the issue is here.

From: Hank Ramos Second Life 1.6.11(2) Aug 15, 2005 ================================= * Dynamic time window for teleport based on attachment count * User can cancel teleport * Scripted gives/rez of no-copy objects out of attachments is forbidden
Note: this isn't a flame or bitch to LL thread. It's to discuss the various changes to SL in this release. Good Good and Good! The first two looks like work is being done on Tporting in general, which has been a thorn in the side for some time - hopefully this is the start of some of those probs being fixed. The last one will stop things with borked perms working only once... not sure if this will effect vendors that rez items (like some of the vehicle vendors). Either way - updates devoted to fixing bugs are a good thing, and hopefully there will be more to come. Siggy.

Users have the right to moan and complain about certain issues as those who moan and complain to those who moan and complain. I doubt it's going to do much good telling people to get off their "fat butts". Seems like more fuel to the fire.

Qa?

From: Malachi Petunia Downtime typically means server side changes as well as client side changes and I don't recall them ever (rarely?) publically documenting server side changes.
But I'll also beat on the tired drum that for a consumer product with the installed base they have, their QA is pretty weak. How about Quality Control? With all the user/customer input these guys get for free you'd expect at least an outline of a feature/function product release plan... Patches are always a hassle for everybody, but target releases keep everyone focused on the QC before QA sucks up cycles. I'm surprised by how much attention they give in general to creating their own mousetrap versus Quality of Service (QoS) issues....

Thats great if in fact is was not a wide spread problem... but this is! An exploit allowing no copy objects to be duplicated SHOULD AND BETTER be on the top of the list, and LL is well aware of this problem for at least 2 weeks!

The nVidia graphics bug wasn't fixed. It's been two weeks now since that got screwed up. There's an nVidia graphics bug? Could you link to details? I've been blaiming my hardware and drivers for all the crashes I've been having lately.

And it also doesn't do any good to scream til you're blue in the face about a patch that FIXES BUGS. You know, important bugs like, oh, I don't know, The Teleport Issue, that 99.9% of people experience on a daily basis. It's fixed finally. Does anyone care? I doubt it. Sheesh. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. LF

Okay, now what is everyone whinging about now? nVidia graphics bug? Server downtime? ffs people, LL just made a huge step toward fixing the teleport bug, and indeed I've had no teleport bugs since the release of 1.6.11 this morning.
So once again I ask, what are you whinging about? They fixed the teleport bug, which most of you whined about at one time or another. Be happy for at least a little while.

LF Will that stop them from saying what's on their mind though? Nope. This fact is clearly shown in this thread and many others.

Sensual, If this is the same exploit you told me about, I spoke with LL about this at the time you told me about it. I heard from both Robin and Philip - they are aware of it and are working on a fix. It has been very difficult for them to reproduce, and a fix for the problem is not simple. I am sure as soon as it is ready, it will be updated. Have you heard anything different?

Cris is right. This is a known issue that QA has been working on for sometime. It's not easy to reproduce, but they believe they're close. Once they've nailed it, the fix will go into the next possible patch.

If that is the case then why can I still replicate no copy objects with ease? This exploit was reported well over 2 months ago!
EXPLAIN THAT PLEASE!
Edit to add, There are 2 exploits that do this, one from 2 weeks ago and a seperate reported by ME over 2 months ago.

Not to add fuel to the fire, but I unvoluntarily triggered this problem in ElvenGlen a week ago approximately. I have to say that, if it works the way I think it does, it is bound to happen again and again

Sensual, if you have a way to easily replicate no copy objects which can be reproduced, please document it and send it to qa@lindenlab.com. That would be an enormous help.

That would be an enormous help. I've done that hun, and reported, and sat with Kona for hours one day as the Lindens reproduced... Hell I was even rewarded for reporting this... so they are well aware of this issue and have been, why it hasnt been fixed, is another question?
