Okay, so in order to satisfy my curiousity, what does everyone do in real life to make their money? (and if you're subsisting off of 2nd life income, tell me that too

I'm a Lead Wintel Engineer for a major US Outsourcing company, specializing in Novell/eDirectory. My role is 50% Management 50% Technical.
I work for the outsourcing company because - I was recently outsourced. They suck, and I'm currently trying to pursue a job with Novell. I originally went to college for Criminal Justice - partied way too hard, and ended up in this career purely on accident.  _____________________

Yeah I have a secondary ed degree with english speech and drama, but uh, after student teaching decided it wasn't what i wanted to do *grin*
Something about being 22 with a bunch of 18 year olds while looking 16, and not being able to teach the things I would want to teach yadda yadda yadda... and well I partied too hard in college and wanted to continue when I was 22... and btw, ty Travis for answering |

I'm 34 Now. After I blew off college, I bartended until I was 24 - then got a 2nd job on a computer helpdesk to help pay my rent. I didn't know the first thing about computers, and BS'ed my way thru the interview to get in the door.
The 2nd job turned into my career, and the rest is history _____________________

WTF is C3PO supposed to be USEFUL for anyway, besides whining? Stupid piece of scrap metal would be more useful recycled as a toaster. But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS! |

I have a Master's Degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of Texas, but I quit at that level, having decided I didn't want to make it my life's work. I became a writer instead, and now I am a contributing editor for a national magazine (which is a fancy word for favored writer, so I've always worked from home.) Before I got kids, I was also an aerobics teacher and taught dance - tap and ballet - to children and adults. For volunteer work, I've taught crafts in an assisted living home and was a Brownie leader for five years. I have a husband, a dog, a cat, and two teenage girls, not necessarily in that order. So now you know me.

honestly, "if i ever won the lottery.." (blah blah blah), i'd start my own video game company. hire young talent, but showing good promise and make games to impress.. never settling for a re-hash of a standard genre. or i could just try to get a job as a web site designer for customers with a smaller budget.  either way, i brag about the types of jobs SLers have to my friends.. but i use it to illustrate the community. _____________________

I have a PhD in English. I love teaching. I will stand up in front of a classroom almost anywhere and point to the conditional tense or to cunjunctions preceeding an independent clause.
Otherwise, I have: taught horseback riding, worked in a vet clinic, and served as an in-mall 'sampler' for Chick-fil-A (If anyone says, "they have good product," I am going to have to puke) . |
