 Nooooooooo!!!!! GAWD DAMN IT!!!!!

This wasn't the problem! That was one of the best tools we had for combating greifers. This is a mistake!

Removing llTeleportAgentHome solves nothing and removes a useful tool. Home security scripts will still unsit and eject pilots flying overhead, they will still use llPushObject to bat people around.

I've used llTeleportAgentHome to stop greifing attacks before. Quite a few times. With that, I didn't have to bother a liason. I just made the bozos dissapear. Problem solved. Why is that being taken away?

Because people are being irresponsible with the llSensorRepeat, actually. Because they're being too lazy to either write the script to properly use the tools in a minimal-impact kind of way, or being too lazy to configure a purchaced script to be minimal impact. Depreciate that.

Give us some damn land tools that get the job done, LL!

I had been told at one point that if it went away they would add it to the pie menu so at least land-owners could still protect their plots... but that was a long while ago...

i hope we get that at least, or something somewhat equivalent because it honestly is the only thing that *successfully* combats grief attacks on the mainland

i think that would just about solve the entire problem don't you?

It would nitpick the greifer passive-agressivley until said greifer went home on thier own to try and understand his or her new feelings of inadequacy. :D

Are they getting rid of this in preparation for doing point to point, maybe?

If so, I'm sure it will be for private island owners only. I have a feeling that LL has no desire to add new management tools to mainland land owners, because they want to increase the 'value' of PI's.

And yup, since Ban doesn't do anything but cause them to hover six feet above your head and shoot you, it'll be open season on the mainland after 1.6.7.

I know I'm going to be told this is a topic for another thread, but I have to ask (because I adore Michi and her opinion), what/why makes you feel this is the direction Michi?

Probably; but we won't do it. So, I guess we can AR, and wait...

Or again this may be designed as incentive for large builds to go to private islands.

I'll probably be including in abuse reports: "Agent was pushgunning/being assaultive; banned, but was ineffective, ejected, but was ineffective, llTeleportAgentHome is gone, nothing else we could do."

Pendari; with the sentiment towards removing the 10% group, and removing this function (which seems to assume that a ban will be effective, and PI owners already have the ability to create no-access lists) I am starting to get the feeling that the reasons are stacking for a project like Luskwood (or any other large mainland projects) to move to a private island.

Perhaps not, but the recent changes all make us point towards that direction. I don't want to have an isolated island off in the middle of nowhere. That's not why we're here. We don't want a private club. We want a place that folks can wander into, or happen by.

But either way --- this kinda does dilute the thread and I would like to keep it on theme since I am concerned that mainland land owners pretty much have no way to combat griefers besides the AR now.

i don't see ll removing sims from the mainland... so you think the plan is for the mainland to be for small land holders?

Sending them home is no fun, shoot them.. when they come back shoot them again.. that's the fun way. If we can just get a "justified shooting" rule passed griefers would have no where to hide

Dumb.

Once again, LL misses the point entirely.

1.6.7 - Deprecating llteleportagenthome()

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't have the full release notes ready for 1.6.7 nor the final release date, however there is one important change I want to give you all advancing warning.

In 1.6.7 we will be deprecating the LSL function llteleportagenthome. After 1.6.7's release, this function will no longer do anything.

Chris Linden

Oh, that's funny. You mean, it was THAT EASY and everybody wrote miles of posts here complaining it was going to be SO HARD for the Lindens to stop bounce script aggressiveness???

Sounds like the job is only half done though. They can still push really far away, and still without warning. So back to the drawing board.

Aimee, you can stop work on your button now. Turns out the Lindens just had to lift their little fingers.

And to all the other scripterati out there, I have to say I'm in absolute shock. You had me really believing it was going to be this incredibly hard thing for the Lindens to scour servers and undo codes and all the rest.

Turns out they just "deprecate" one little thingie. My God. This is a lesson indeed and you'll never get EVER believing you EVER again when you claim there's going to be "all this work for Linden programmers".

This is not a bounce script, proc. This was never the function that most people were complaining about.

You honestly have no idea what your talking about.

Nobody ever said it would be difficult for the lindens to turn off a script function.

I wonder if people will be able to fly across the grid now - or will people still be attacking non-existant griefers in their absense?
