I think they chose a really bad time, 3-5AM for Europe on a weekday morning? They might as well have declared it open to North Americans only.

Well I know there were some Euro & Asian - time zone who managed to stay up for all or part of the event.
I would think that SL time Saturday 2 - 4 pm might be more likely to get a larger portion of the world population involved. The Asian side would be at the severe disadvantage then, but again, putting it in the middle of a weekend should help most folks make it.
It woulda been really cool if the tote board that the Lindens handed out had functioned, but nevertheless we partied our butts off in Batak! Altruima managed to stop by at the height of the frenzy.
Aw, heck a buddy of mine who hadn't logged in for over a year managed to get online for this! How's that for draw?
