From: Loki Pico SL BirthdaysI have had this page bookmarked for a long time, is it missing about 800 new residents a day? Where is the 1000 per day number coming from? Ezhar's scanners, sadly, no longer have as wide of a range as they used to. He only has, at last check, a half dozen to a dozen scanners scattered around (mostly) the Old Grid. So, he misses anyone not using those telehubs or flying by them. LF

Yes, except the asset server shall reach critical mass and implode forming a singularity and wiping out half of North America at 04:31 SLT on Wednesday November, 16, 2005. I received this information on a notecard that was sucked into the singularity and wound up in my lost+found folder yesterday.
Enjoy the next couple of months, folks. And on behalf of Linden Lab, apologies to British Columbia, Washinton, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Baja, and California.

From: Lordfly Digeridoo The current mark on the website is the amount of active users within the past 30 days. That means anyone that's logged in the last month.
According to Robin this is not the case. The ~ 51,000 population listed on the home page is the total number of valid Second Life accounts. I find this a bit disheartening because the number of active users (users who have logged into Second Life in the past 30 days) would only be a fraction of this number. One million valid accounts seems like a somewhat attainable goal. At this rate, one million active users is hard to imagine. Edit: This is probably the main reason why we have such a difficult time reaching the concurrent users goals in these log-a-thons ... I'm not sure if there are 5000 active users.

That number doesnt matter. What matters is concurrent users. SL will hit one million concurrent users slightly before the universe undergoes heat death.

Will Havok 2 be implemented by then? Man, I need to stop that. Making fun of Havok 2 is becoming the lame Duke Nukem Forever joke of SL. 'Cause it's late, get it? HAW! HAW!
