This is Vinny. Full name: Shelle's Vendredei Chien. He's also of the evil variety. As well as the crazy cat-like nine lives variety. This is the dog I previously posted about who has had heart surgery, been run over twice, had gall bladder surgery, is half-blind and etc. etc. Oh yeah, he's on prozac too

All 4 are rescues. In order of appearance they are Smudge, Little Guy, Mik & Scout. _____________________

Here, in all his glory, is Beebo. A handsome fellow but a cat of very little brain.

ok here's a picture of Jack. He's probably one of the most low-maintenance pets ever.

Pepper, He might be low-maintenance, but you shouldn't be keeping him in that kind of container. He needs to go in a proper tank that is suitable for a fish of his size. In that bowl he will be permanently stressed, and his life will probably be short. Please think about getting a tank. |

Nephilaine,
Yes, they do get on together really well. We got them both as kittens, so they have grown up together. Every morning they run round the house chasing each other, making a terrible racket as they crash about, and then quite often they will settle down, cuddling each other as they were doing in the photo. Bengy, the spotted one, once managed to flood the house - we went out, and somehow he managed to turn on the tap in the bathroom sink. He turned it on so far the flow was greater than the outflow, and it ended up overflowing onto the floor, through the kitchen ceiling and also down the stairs. We got home to discover we had two indoor waterfalls. ![]() |

I actually am hardcore. I have two cats and two dogs too, but I only have a picture of the Vin-Monster because the rest of the animal crew has only joined our family in the last year. In addition to Vin Monster we have Zeena the warrior beagle, Sundance the uber cool cat and Mooska, the shop cat, who is about as skittish as a deer in a circle of hunters

Cool Victoria, Guinea Pigs rule. Mine trained me to feed them on demand with coded squeals. I kinda miss them. =\

Selador,
That is the proper size, Betas love small bowls. It's one of the reasons they're so low maintenance. Just dont leave 'em in the window ![]() (Not me, someone "helping" me by cleaning up my desk.) UU |

I have had a few betas. The one that lived the longest was in one of those small octagonal "tanks" with a small filter on it (think goldfish). He lived over a year. The other betas were in smaller unfiltered containers.
While I don't think Pepper is a "bad parent" I have to agree with Selador that bigger (& filtered) is better.. or so it was in my case. _____________________

Upshaw,
I have to disagree with you about Bettas. Just because they are very tough fish doesn't mean they have to be kept in unsuitable conditions. There is a difference between bare survival and good health. |

I don't have any pictures of him (would never stand still long enough) but aside from my 4 cats (Yes! I am the crazy cat lady on the corner in my neighborhood) the most interesting pet I had was Marvin, the Chinchilla of Love.
Chins are fantastic pets if you have space for their cage.(think ferret size) And sooooo smart!! Like shockingly smart. When we let him out to run, we would put a screen in front of the kitchen to keep him out. I would watch him, sitting and staring at that screen. You could see him working it out in his head. Sure enough, he would figure out a way over it, jumping from one thing to the next to get high enough to jump. Very obiediant too. When play time was over, whever he was, I would just say "Marvin, go home" and he would run to his cage. He also loved to torment the cats. He would wait until they wern't looking and race up behin them, jump on top of them, and springboard off their heads slapping them in the face with his little squirrel tail. He got sick though, one night he looked a little sad and didn't want to play, the next morning he was dead. /cryIf you're looking for something a little exotic, look at a chinchilla. |

At the risk of chiming in and sounding like a freak of nature.. I have had chinchillas too.. very cute although I hated the dust they needed for their fur.
Right now we have the 2 cats & 2 dogs I showed earlier but in the past Ive had the usual suspects: Cats, Dogs & fish. The not so usual: rats, hampsters & snakes. Ive even had the downright different: chinchillas, a ferret & (registered) desert tortoises. Not all at the same time mind you .The most animals I've ever had at once was 7 cats (our two and a momma cat & kittens I rescued) and a dog. It was a temporary situation. Now go on about your business while I peek out the blinds at the neighbor kids. I have to work on my "whacky lady of the block" reputation. _____________________
