I find it pretty 'funny' that in the Hotline to Linden forums, a certain Land Baroness gets a response from King Phillip within 9 minutes of posting...when other people have never gotten a response. People that had more detrimental questions/concerns. I went back several pages and saw 0 responses to many people. Don't see any favoritism there at all...

I also found this comment made by her rather ironic... "Is there any chance that you will disclose this mystery to us curious commoners? :-P " That must mean she has joined the ranks of us 'tourists and consumers' *snickers*

Carry on...

I find that it was a well worded and subtle jab at the real commoners.

If this is your measure of favoritism, can we take me off the favorites list?

It took one of mine almost 2 months though, so maybe they are still on it! ;)

Taking you off the favorites list would be a huge development effort, Aimee. Sadly, Pandastrong's 'Junk Slider' is just a bigger priority right now. :D

LOL!! Well I don't want to get in the way of the Junk Slider.

I know this wont put any sort of damper on the fun of claiming favoritism. But honestly, Sometimes new users get a quick reply, and sometimes they don't, and sometimes the "FIC" get a quick reply, and sometimes they don't. I think it has much more to do with the nature of the question than the person asking.

The impression I got was that Phil, upon reading the question, wanted to know what the hell was going on too. So he asked Anshe for the name of the account in question.

SL's biggest customer BY FAR gets more attention than others, especially when she is compelled to go thru a public forum from sheer frustration.

What's wrong or abnormal with that? Your best customer gets frustrated, you react. It's sane, normal and healthy.

I would in fact argue that Anshe is detrimental to LLAb's business plan, but not in the way you'd expect.

Because she owns SO MUCH LAND, she's got a rather hefty 10% land bonus. On top of that, she's way past the $195/month tier, giving her a ton of land at a huge discount.

LLab would much prefer if everyone on the mainland had 1024m to themselves rather than a few folks owning half the grid. It makes them so much more money.

Well, Lordfly, maybe you'd better let LL decide whether they want to have Anshe as a customer ?

Yeah, I guess it is ok to let others questions go unanswered then. I'm in sales irl and do alot of customer service, maybe from now on I will just ignore the little people and make sure that the big accts are taken care of since they own so many phones and the little people don't. Yeah ok... I treat every customer with respect and answer questions/concerns in order.

My point is that no post in that forum should go unanswered and they should try to be answered in order, at least with a "We don't have an answer just yet but will let you know when we do" instead of posts just sitting and gathering dust. Seems only fair...

I'm comfortable with LL's performance on the hotline (despite my 2 month old unanswered issue...yay favoritism!) I think if LL reached 100% perfection they would still see an unending stream of complaints on the forums :D

In a shallow, surface sort of way, I guess a placeholder message may ease the frustration of some...

Your question is important to us, please stay on the line and you will be helped by the next available Linden

For me it would feel like an unnecessary exercise in faux-personable corporate relations. Ugh, I dread the day when Linden Lab becomes that.

Yes, I wish they would all get some sort of answer. One of my (very few) hotline questions sat unanswered for days, till it slid back a couple of pages. I added to it, saying I forget what, but then it was answered.

But before I did that, I looked at the forum description (or somewhere) and found a sentence that said that if the question wasn't pertinent to the general population of SL or something like that, it would go unanswered. But I see questions that ARE pertinent (in fact, I haven't seen any that aren't, except technical ones that get moved) go unanswered.

And yes, I noticed that Anshe posts a question and Philip Himself responds immediately, and that looks bad. The Lindens are not good at knowing what doesn't look good, and that I know for a pure-D fact. On the other hand, I've seen Anshe questions posed in hotline before that don't get immediate answers, or answers from the head honcho himself. When I saw this one, and saw how bad it looked, I thought about how a person could dig back and see who all answered her previous questions and how long it took, since to my knowledge this hasn't happened before. (But I wasn't gonna bother.)

Actually, this is just your *opinion*. This is not a fact. I personally do not think it looks bad, and I'm sure others do not as well. So, you are stating opinion not fact. :)

well, I will grant to cocoa that LL makes their fair share of faux-pas, but really, when you consider the touchy, contradictory hornets nest that is Second Life, if they tried their best not to offend anyone, they wouldn't get a damn thing done.

I contend that it is exactly their attempts to not offend anyone that has made them generally non-communicative and their statements & responses often vacuous.

You could, but you would have to discuss them in the Off-Topic section rather than the now popular Aimee's-Panties section.

Money talks apparently. No I am not suprized or shocked, a bit pissed yes but shocked or suprized, nope.

I predict LL new theme song will be "Money make the world go round the world go round, the world go round."

No it doesn't, it just helps a great deal lol.

FYI I have pulled most of my funds out of SL after this months various announcements... ahhhh I'm a tourist :D they can bite me LOL

Yes, the dreaded "Your call is very important to us, please hold for another 6 weeks and we'll get to you when we get to you".

It's just a phrase, Pendari. Probably a southern one.
