Just wondering why download of game is not compatable for Millinium edition?
I would like to install Second Life but am not going to change my whole system just for a game!
Do you forsee that it will be made compatable for Millinium users in the near future?

My advice to Windows Millenium users:

Get XP. You're riding a turkey.

LL's resources would be better spent on a Linux version IMO.

If you're using an OS that's five years old it's time to upgrade. Microsoft doesn't even support that OS anymore so why would you expect Linden Lab to?

That being said, I demand a version for Windows for Workgroups 3.1!

To be honest ME is getting pretty old and I personally don't see LL making SL compatible with it. I am sorry if this means you can't play SL. Any chance of you upgrading?

ME is a bugfest. How can you stand it? Upgrade to XP, XP is heaven in comparison!

More to the subject, XP has features that SL uses that do not exist in the 9x version of Windows, like Unicode support. That's the problem with aged operating systems, they aren't up with the state of technology. Which is why computer stuff makes for an expensive hoby.

SL is no different than any other major software/game in the world. The game is developed with the current technology and enhanced with the latest and greatest.
For them to try to code "backwards" would not only be a programmers nightmare but would not justify the cost of doing business.

When I started SL, I had a laptop to play some games on. I couldn't play SL on the laptop because of the video card. I started playing on my husband's computer and got hooked. He ended up buying me a new laptop that has a video card that is on the upper edge of the technology curve. I think he just wanted his computer back..LOL.

With or without rhe memory expansion?
I want a version that runs on the Commodore 64. I mean, if it's good enough for the asset server, it's good enough for the client! ;)

That's nothing.

I hear the user server is actually Phoenix Linden in a closet with big stacks of parchment and an inkwell. ;)

So you're saying that we can't cross borders smoothly because Lizzie Linden can't type any faster?

The new scalable asset server uses a fabulous upgrade - bigger hamsters.

I'd appreciate it if you didn't refer to the legal department in that manner. :p

Two people voted yes? Was the non-original-poster vote an effort at "Performance Art"?

Please dont go insulting the weasels like that, nobody should be accidentally associated with the legal department. That's just cruel.

To be fair, once you have all the updates for ME, its a reasonably decent OS and since so many people abandoned it for XP, you can usually find it cheap or free even. That being said though, XP is vastly superior in almost every way you can measure. ME has all the limitations of Win98 including all those 16 bit resource limits that keep filling up. Bleh

I can probably get a hobo to poop in my mouth pretty cheap too but that doesn't make it desireable
