As a DSL Support Technician (for a phone company starting with V, and ends with 'is EVIL') I get alot of calls from different parts of the country. In six months I've gotten calls from people playing WoW, CoH, Halo 2, even Madden 2004. But I haven't gotten a call from anyone running SL or There (that they'll admit to, at least.).
So I figured, out of boredom, and out of a bad dream where I was trying to diagnose some schmucks packet loss and finding it to be his Norton Interweb Secretion software, I'd run a poll for what you kids out there are using.

Im on Time warner cable right now (ugh!), but by this weekend I will have moved back and will be on Armstrong cable(tiny little cable company, but they give me a dedicated 3mb line cause I work for them)
and Ill be doing tech support for them. I wonder how many SL'ers do tech support? my lovely girlfriend does also, but she works for a certain evil VoIP provider.

I'm a little baised on cable companies because I'm only aware of the ones that bitchy DSL customers threaten to switch to when I ask them to, say, take the line filter off of the modem, and put it on the phone(s). (They think that just filtering the modem and not all their phones is less work?)
The only problem is that most cable services put the speed-capping measures in the modems themselves, so the average customer MIGHT see that promised 5-7mbps is their lines are in good cindition, there's no one else using them, and some wannabe hacker hasn't broken the teir-lock on his modem and isn't streaming pr0n at 15mbps.
It's a tradeoff either way.

yea, they're on capped tiers at armstrong, but they keep their alottment on lines pretty well regulated. Im confident in saying their service is *as* reliable as DSL in the area. but thats mostly because the phone infrastructure blows in PA.

For half the day, while I am at work I get the pleasure of a full T1 dedicated to just data. We have two T1's, the other is dedicated to just voice because we need lots of lines.
At home I am on Comcast Cable. I have been pleased with them.

SpeakEasy. I haven't decided if the whole package is worth the extra cost yet, but the performance is faster and way less flaky than my previous VZN, they have the best tech support EVAR, and they'll let me have DSL without a land line.
This should probably be in off-topic though.

I'm french so none of these. I'm using France Telecom 8Mbps ADSL, soon to upgrade to another carrier at 20+ Mbps when my current subscriptions reaches its term.

How about non-US options? The US is the backwater of hi-speed internet connections. I'm on a 5Mbit cable and will going to the 100Mbit when it comes early 2006.

Yeah. We really need the space for more polling options. But then some wank would start listing PIE and CHEESE multiple times.

At work we have 4 full T1's, one dedicated to the 3COM NBX system in play, one full for a PTP to a satellite office , one full for another PTP to another satellite office and the other full for just internet. While at home I have Road Runner which other than their price setup has been pretty reliable.

I run my Strawberry-Rhubarb on a Gorgonzola 8mbps DSL, Burke. I used to be on Emmenthaler, but there were too many holes in their system.

Comcast cable at home, dual bonded data only T1s at the office. Additional T1 for VoIP phone service. I work for a consulting company who is a dealer for Covad in the bay area of CA. I wouldn't let any of my friends on SBC DSL due to issues I see at customer sites frequently (outages, packet loss, poor line quality etc. etc. etc.) Comcast has bumped up my bandwidth (downstream) regularly and I have never been impacted due to network utilization by others on my segment. I have been using Comcast cable access since AT&T used to offer it in Oregon (my home until a year ago), Excite@home went bankrupt, AT&T tried to fill the gap, and then succombed to Comcast. Needless to say Comcast has actually offered the most reliable service through all the transitions, for data, digital cable TV, and HDTV.

Peice of string and a tin cup. I have to say every 1 and 0 I want to have it do, then the "computer" on the other side tells me what it looks like.

Cebridge cable @3mbs. Small town where the "older crowd" doesn't see the need to give up their dial up. Great for me!!

I had DSL thru Qwest when I was in Phoenix, which I thought was great (coming from a 56k modem). I had almost gone with Cox except when I took the day off work to wait for the installer he never showed so I got a DishNetwork for TV and DSL for broadband instead. hehehe.
When I moved to Mass I got ATTbroadband, which was bought out by Comcast. It is waaaaay better than the digital service from Qwest. The only problem with Comcast is that their billing department has their head up their ***. I've had major billing errors on 3 occasions which usually took weeks to sort out each time. (ok, I must admit that most of the problems were related to stuff that ATT did before the buyout so...)

Currently Cox cable, switching to "my neighbor's insecure wifi" for three days and then back to Cox cable after we move. In the past I have run SL over a T1 (when we had a company and an office and hosted web servers), Comcast cable, and wifi at Kinko's, Starbucks and various RV parks around the country. In all cases, I'm using wifi to connect from my laptop.
