Ipod or IRiver?

I am not talking about price when I talk about mark-up. I am talking about over pricing.
Take a Lexus. Lets say is cost them 45 (45 what we don’t care in this) then they sell it for 180 that is a 300% mark-up.
Take a Hynda. Lets say it cost them 20 (20 what we don’t care in this) then they sell it for 26 that is a 30% mark-up.
Now are you really getting 6.923077 more of a car in a Lexus over a Hynda? No only a 2.25 more of a car but your paying more then that. Math here does not add up. They were gouging you. This is no longer the case but they had to stop because people were getting smart about there markup and were leaving them. I for one could never forgive them for that, unless they made amends and they have not.



I have only had a handful of programs that are a problem. The problem is not with the OS it’s with the program. They didn’t follow Window protocols. Mac does not have this problem because you can not sell a program for Mac unless you get the ok from Apple. That is a safety thing Apple has done to keep there name looking good. That has also stopped allot of companies from writing programs for the Mac and that is not good. Take the good with the bad. You take the limited programs and I take the problem uninstall But just when out and got a cleaner so I don’t really have that problem.

Viruses and Security is really not a problem. It is and it is not. Security “updates” I see as no problem, by all means keep updating keep me safe if you have to update 100000000 times a day I say good but I am on a 3m cable connation. Viruses and Security holes are not as big as people think they are on a Windows machine. It’s how you look at it. How many people are out to Do negative things to a Windows PC? Lets say 2,000,000. How many people are out to do negative things to Mac? Lets say 1. How many Widow negative programs are out there? Lets say 1,000. How many Mac? Lets say 5. OK lets do the math here. Mac 1:5 Windows 20:1. Now the number are not real, but I have read and don’t have here with me (I throw the article away) that gave the real numbers and it was about this type of ratios. That to me means two things. Mac is less secure. People are just gunning for Windows. But again this is about Players not Computers!!!



No not really. I want MORE, but I don’t have the money for MORE. But I should in about 6 months then I will get MORE but still not be happy because I will want MORE. I have at work the state of the art PC. Running Pro/E. I want MORE. But there is no more. I have tried Pro/E on a Unix machine and it was no faster. So I will stick with my PC. I am never happy. I always want more. If they don’t get off there back side to give me more I will leave MS. I was a IBM man, SO/2 Warp was the reason I almost when back but they took to long to put it out and developers gave up on them. It killed there program. Always remember MS is the #1 supplier of Mac programs. Bill Gates saved Apple.



But I can say they are because they have. The company has never been about the consumer. Take a look at there history.



Only people who are stupid and have no knowledge of Computers. Windows won over Unix, Comidor, and Mac for one a few reasons.
1) Price
2) Piracy
3) Ease of use
Price was better then Unix and Mac. Piracy let people with no money keep there PC at home going so when works went to get a computer people said I know MS-Dos so they went to Dos. Mac may be easier but Unix is not.

Better is not a work that can be used today for this. Better value is.



Pure marketing and lake of real knowledge. If we take the Ipaq in to this Ipaq is #1. Ipod has had little to no computation till recently. Some people will stay with ipod out of its what they know. Some will jump ship. We will see were they go.



No not really. I hate Murder. It’s not bad to hate murder. I hate steeling. But hating steeling is not bad. I hate viruses (Computer ones) and that is not bad. (Real viruses can be good)

You win, you can write more than I can. What should I do with my brand new 2.3 gig dual processor Powermac and my 60 gig iPod Photo? And what computer should I replace it with? I already have an iPaq but I don't really enjoy using it for music as it is maxed at 1gig and only has like 30 songs plus my eBooks.

I guess I only thought I was happy all this time.

I gave and you don't like my opinion. And I don't like yours. Long run it does not mater what I think or you think to any one other then ourself. Do you have such low self worth that any one that chanlenges what you like that you take it as they are saying you are wrong?? Time for people in general to get over them self.

Hi, I was agreeing with you, I am still agreeing with you.

I was trying to stop the madness. Apple isn't ripping off anyone. No one has forced people to buy Apple computers. I was merely trying to point this out. I was hoping by showing how happy I've been with my Apple computers you would understand. Have you owned/used one in the last 20 years? I have used both Macs and PC's and I am very very happy with my Macs, so much to the point that I have given away my PC's. I really thought that by showing you my side of the story you would see that your assertation that Mac users were somehow being mistreated was not true. Or in the least that others reading this would have a more well rounded viewpoint.

I did not intend to offend, just inform. I am sorry you felt the need to personally attack me in such a manner. Are we not here to discuss?
