Well, there was this one time a Gorean negrated everyone who *had an object* at a mall I once rented a stall at.
You see, she claimed to have been griefed by someone wearing the mall-renter's group tag. Okay, no problem believing that; there's griefers, some of them must rent vendor stalls. Null sheen. No, the comedy comes from her then heading to the mall and triple neg-rating everyone with an object in that mall. Not just the griefer, mind, but everyone, because obviously it was all a big conspiracy to act against her. (I possess chat logs that are MOST amusing...) And then she threatened to get all her friends to do the same if we "retaliated". The really fun bit comes from the fact that I didn't rent from the mall at that time., and hadn't for months. It's just the mall owner was a bit lax on cleaning up stray objects and there were a couple of vendors I had forgotten to delete myself. *shrug* doesn't bother me none since I got such a good story out of it. I just stuck her name on the "never help, ever, even if they're on fire and I've a full bladder" list.  _____________________

I just got my first neg rating 2 nights ago. I've been here since December and not one neg. Ha...even I am surprised about it.
So my friend decided that he had to be my first and gave me a neg on behavior. I guess he wanted to sacrifice a neg virgin, I dunno. LOL |

My most recently received negs (now only one) were received in the following astoundingly stubborn fashion:
SS buys my stuff in a mall at about 4am SL time. SS angrily IM's me, SS accuses me of ripping her off SS cannot find the product in the box SS says the box is empty I wake up 50 minutes after initial IM to find that SS had just triple-negged me since I'd not responded quickly enough to her at 5am SL time. I happen to have been OLS, I'd been up over 24 hours working the Relay For Life fundraiser as a DJ and stream den mother. I IM SS I explain this to SS SS is non-plussed, I guess fighting cancer isn't on her list of priorities, as her crop-topped, daisy duke shorts, mall hair wearing avie smoked through this entire interaction. After a few questions & answers I find SS doesn't know how to find the purchased product. I tp to her at the mall, I check out her profile, I realize: SS is ~ 9 days old, SS didn't know that product gets delivered in a box/object or in a folder, SS kept doing the famed noob-wearing-box-on-head trick SS didn't know how to pull content out of an object, SS doesn't realize that one cannot "empty" an attached object, SS repeatedly ignorned my instructions to drop, not wear or to drag out, not wear, SS did this at least 3 times after I tp'd over to her, SS didn't know what the "return" function is on land (mall is set to a generous 10 mins.), SS expected that I WAS indeed trying to rip her off, SS didn't take my thrice-repeated offer to a 100% refund if she'd return my product, SS didn't know that to undo negs it would cost her 25 L per category again, All the while, I'm doing my best to walk SS through the process of getting the product she'd indeed obviously received as well as how to unpack it and explaining all these ins and outs of SL she was self-roadblocking herself with as stated above. For my efforts: I get told that my store stinks , I have cruddy customer service (my words, that was her intent, I'm not digging out the notecard now, still smells of her smoke-puffingcigar/blunt, didn't get close enough to distinguish which, sorry). SS continues to complain, SS crashes, I wait for SS to come back so that we can try to finish the process of removing the remaining items from the box, I tp SS back to the mall from where ever she re-rezzed (WA would be my guess, considering), SS yet accuses me of trying to rip her off. - All through this I'm mindful of the fact that I just woke up from a 2 hour in-the-chair-at-the-computer nap, the first sleep I'd had in about 24 hours, so I'm trying really hard to fight my heartfelt desire to be as wicked as I can be when provoked and just help her through this, hoping against all reasonable hope that SS will realize what really happened here is a simple n00b-type error and not a rip-off or at the very least that she won't go out and say bad things about my stuff undeservedly. Be ticked at me for my behavior, something I did do, that I can live with, but bad mouthing my stuff, my biz when it's wholly undeserved, that's irritating as all get out! - SS gets the rest of her stuff into her inventory, SS at this point still hasn't removed the negs, SS hasn't apologized either although I've obviously NOT ripped her off I point out that I expect SS to remove the negs SS claims to be broke Again, I offer: A 100% refund if she will simply return the product, so she can afford to remove the negs SS balks at the impertinence of my suggestion (my word, trust me) I counter that this is hardly fair, since: She's received the product, I've helped her quite a bit, I've clearly not ripped her off. SS tries to argue with me about this SS relents, a little In the end, SS has her product, SS thinks my customer service skills/product/shop/marketing stinks, SS removes 2 of the 3 negs I'm stuck w/a neg for appearance, my troll-like tendancies red-flagged for all to see now, don't look you might be damaged by the view folks! It's all I can do to not get my alts and everyone else I know to bury this now-broke n00b under a firestorm of negs. I don't do that. I don't "lip off" at her (dents in my lower lip yet visible, not!). I DO laugh my butt off at the 125L SS spent to try to accomplish I don't know what. Last night I go into the preview and see that Negs are going away. I LAUGH again at SS's expense. Now before anyone thinks that I am picking on a new resident for common (oh, did I do all of the above, except for negging folks for not running if I stomp my foot and hold my breath, nor be a nasty, unrepentant pest), I'll provide you w/a names-removed copy of the chat record, IM me in world. My previously received negs were from (2 different) "ex's" that felt they were causing me great damage with the negs. Frankly, I wore them with pride. They got removed by the ratings system change, to my great amusement. Both those "boys" are no longer in SL, so pfft! Oh and I had one for building that showed w/out comment when I was about 1 - 2 weeks into my "First Land". I'm not entirely sure it wasn't a positive that got mis-clicked. Oh and it wasn't given when I had my infamously puke-inducing all moving, all water, 15m x 30m x 30m high tower out. I puzzled and went on. Come to think of it, my next door neighbor had ban lines up, maybe they negged me but meant them? SS is obviously a tough-type, SS really "showed" me who's boss, and everytime I think of that neg, I smile and even chuckle. SS obviously really, really wanted that outfit, to go through all this and to end up paying 150% for it in the end! So, I laugh. I have the chat record to back me up. I got paid 150% the purchase price for this product I also have 600+ positives to balance it out. My reputation has been trashed, obviously. I am heartbroken. I will never recover. NOT! I did not neg SS, nor did I AR her. I did the meanest thing I could think of, I treated her reasonably and sure hope she goes around wearing that outfit, further advertising my awful, horribly marketed, ill-fitting, ugly, un-fashionable, un-original (design and texture SO like everything else 1st & 2nd life), completely derivative design. Living well, 1st or 2nd life IS the best revenge. Oh, and her 150% payment, went right into a Luminaria on the Relay For Life pathway when I returned to the event. So SS, thanks for your contribution to the American Cancer Society, thanks for waking me up from my nap, thanks for showing me just how awful my stuff is, obviously, thanks for giving me something (hopefully amusing) to contribute to this thread! Neg rating for any "reason" is a concept for a medieval society (attaching a permanent sign on someone, saying s/he is bad, with no explenation and no chance to ever get rid of it). This does not fit in a modern society which SL hopefully is - or should be.
LL seems to have realized this. If I remember it right, neg rating will be gone from SL starting with 1.7 |

My boyfriend was building in Rausch. Someone rezzed a building on his head. He complained to the guy, and the guy shot him and sent him into relog. When my bf returned, the guy was still there w/ his pregnant girlfriend. My bf shot at the guy who shot him, accidentally hit the pregnant girlfriend, and apologized profusely to the pg girl, who forgave him. However, the other guy logged out, came back as his alt, asked me to tp him to a club opening I was at because someone was stalking him. I couldn't find the teleport button because the window was too big, so I told him I was sorry I couldn't do it. He checked my profile, flew to my house, and triple neg rated me as his alt. By this time my bf had filled me in on what happened, had filed an abuse report on the guy, and urged me to fly to Rausch to retaliate with a neg rating on the guy's building, which was still there.
Instead, I contacted the guy's girlfriend, who admitted yes it was her boyfriend's alt who neg rated me. She apologized, I apologized, and we both agreed men should keep their petty little battles to themselves instead of dragging in girlfriends, group affiliations, etc. and said she would try to get the guy to come reverse the neg rating...instead, SL banned him and his alt, he hasn't returned to SL, and I still have three negs still on my clean record My boyfriend got triple neg rated by the guy AND by his alt! sheesh!*happy dance that negs go away in 1.7* (end of story: my bf found the guy before he got banned, shot him, ghosted him, then peed on him and sent the pic to his entire group list...boys! ) |

The only negs I have that weren't reversed after dispelling misunderstandings were:
1) I was playing a gambling machine at a store during an event by the store owner/gambling machine scripter. At one point, the machine took my money but the game didn't start. I tell the owner, who says I must have "clicked on the quit game dialog button". I say I didn't, and could she just refund the $20 stake I put in. She claims she is too poor to do that (?? didn't my stake just go right into her account ??) I get a little more forceful in my request, and she starts swearing up a storm at me (right in the middle of her event, if you remember). Another attendee backs me up. She triple negs me. I neg her for behavior, and kick her from my mall group and remove her gambling machines from where she had them for sale. 2) I had one of those matching Donate/Vote Linden boxes in the entry way to my mall. Some guy IMs me to tell me how evil I am for "asking for donations" on land where I'm obviously "making a lot of money from rent". He refuses to listen to anything I say in return, and I'm told he "knows my right-wing, capitalist type". Triple neg rates me. _____________________

- One neg for "ripping someone off." Apparently someone could not read the sign where it said "Pay me 1L$," instead paying it 25 (the price I had mistakenly listed in the manual, which I fixed). Oh, they got their refund, but the neg never went away... until six months later. - One neg for no apparent reason (griefer). - One neg when I was a relative newbie for "accidentally" releasing a tornado in Morris. - And one neg for the prim mirror drama incident. _____________________
