Ziggy,

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU, for both the ZHAO and the new ZHAO II. The original was my first AO, one I bought pre-loaded. It worked great!

I bought a HUDDLES AO, and I really liked it. The vendor provided excellent support, too. But a new bug in the recent SL updates has made it nearly useless for me...now it freezes, and loses its button labels frequently. Not the vendor's fault, but I went looking for an alternative.

I picked up a blank ZHAO II last night and loaded it up with many of the anims that previously were in my HUDDLES. (Thanks for the error checking routine. It caught all the typos in my notecard).

I was initially surprised at the small size of the HUD. But the device functions flawlessly, in a bare minimum of screen space. Bravo, bravo, bravo!!

There's only two things I miss. One, the HUDDLES had more storage space. I could store about 4-5 times the number of anims in it than I can with the ZHAO II, plus it can access all the default SL anims. I would like to put ALL my anims in my AO, even if it means using multiple notecards to access them all. Two, the HUDDLES acts like a Chimera as well...I can use it as a solo or a group dance machine. I would really like to see this ability incorporated in the next ZHAO.

And two other feature suggestions, that nobody else has...is it possible to design an AO so that you can access multiple Fly, Jump, Run, etc. anims, rather than only have multiple Stand, Sit, Ground Sit, and Walks? And, would it be possible to set things up so the AO randomly cycles ALL of the multiple anim types, rather than just Stands? So, for instance, one time your Av would use SexyWalk1, and the next time, SexyWalk3? Variety is the spice of SLife!

Thanks for a great product!

I don't understand. Are you talking about the script running out of memory? I don't think you're talking about running out of space in ZHAO II's inventory, since I don't know that you can run out of inventory space. And yes, there is a limit to how many animations you can include in a single notecard before the script will run out of memory.

So maybe that's what you're talking about. You can use multiple notecards with ZHAO II to set up multiple animation sets.

ZHAO II can as well, but you need to type in the name into the notecard as if it were a regular animation. It'll warn you that the animation wasn't found in inventory, but it'll play it.

I don't plan to do this. ZHAO II is an AO, and I'd prefer to keep it an AO. Others are free to build on it and make dance machines or other devices with it, and ZHAO II makes this easier because it can be controlled by outside scripts.

These have come up before. It is possible to do both of these. It would take some re-design, so if I see enough demand for this, I'll consider it :)

Ziggles, I know I told you this the other night, but...

YOU ROCK!

I LOVE the ZHAO II (even though, as you know, I had to chop it up a little for my project *grin*)!

Present for you coming this weekend. You'll be the first to get one.

I'll shoot you an IM about colours.

Mickey

OK, I guess I tried to squeeze too much onto a single notecard. Thanks for the clarification.

Great to know...more notecard building, coming up! :)

One more question, if you don't mind...I have a couple of anims for "hard landings", but the default notecard doesn't seem to have a category for that, only for "Landing". Can I type in a new category line?

Use the "standing up" category, that's the same one that was called "hard landing" in the old notecards.

No, you cannot add category lines. The script understands the categories currently listed in the notecard, it's not smart enough to look at a new category and figure out what it's supposed to do with it :)

Any ETA for when ZHAO-II will be released to the masses?

(Admittedly I'm curious whether my suggestions were incorporated... :) )

Um... like I said, ZHAO II is now a released product, so anyone can pick up a copy, and so... no, I don't need any more beta testers, the beta test period is over :)

Quick question Ziggy. Have you made any new changes since you gave out the one for the beta testers?
