Count me in Ziggy. I've been a long time Zhao user, played around with the notecards, added my own anims...and even made some using the Zhao hud with custom anims to help friends and other newbies out. Would be great to try your new version out

Feedback
07-12-2007 23:18
Ziggy: I'm not sure where you wanted the feedback, so I'll just post here. :)

I finally found time to play with my ZHAO-II beta yesterday, and I'm impressed so far. I skimmed the instructions and after figuring out that the animations and config notecard needs to be inside the ZHAO itself things seemed to work fine.

I'm only seeing two buttons, the on/off button and the menu button. That's intentional, right? I've only configured a few walks so far, in case that matters.

I like the menu approach, but dedicated buttons might be clearer for some things. The fact that the UI can be customized is great, maybe you could include a demo for that, make it simpler for people to play with it? I like the new smaller buttons!

Providing RL doesn't mess up my SL time, I'll try to have a closer look tonight. (European time.)

I've had great luck so far as well. As I mentioned when we chatted I ported all of the animations from my previous AO without incident and all works well. I for one like the HUD and menu the way it is, minimal and not taking up my screen. That is the only way I would wear a hud, personally. If it was big (as others were I have tried) I would suck it up and go back to the chat command variant.

Cheers,
S

I wouldn't like a huge HUD taking up a lot of space either, but I could do with a few more tiny buttons for quick access to stuff I use often. (I don't know what that is yet, though... ;) )

I guess I feel that the multi-click process is cumbersome compared to targeting a tiny button (say four quick access buttons in the space of a single current button) and clicking once.

But the current power and menu buttons are very nice the way they are... Don't change that!

I guess I'm a best of both worlds kind of guy...

I am ao fiend. I have several kinds and have yet to be pleased totally by any of them. I'd love to offer you feed back! If you would be so kind as to send me one to try.

Thanks,

I'd definitely try this. I'm using the old one but it just drives me crazy sometimes *pulls out some hair*. :) Where can I get one?

I'd Love to test it out

It might be too late, but I would love to test the new Zhao. I use one that somebody gave to me, already set to go. I tired to change some of the animation, and to no success. Maybe this new one will be easier. Or maybe by now, more knowledge, has obsobed into this ole ameba head of mine. :)

Made an AO but have trouble getting some of the odd scripts to work (landing, etc). Would love to beta a new one.

So.... somewhere around 30 people got beta copies of the ZHAO-II, and I think I've heard back from maybe half a dozen. If the rest of you have any comments or feedback, I sure would like to hear it :)

Still no problems on my end, though after initial playing around with settings the last week or more has been just static use (with sit AO disabled).

Works great :)

Few days later, guess I'm late. But to make sure, I'm open to beta-testing your ZHAO-II as well, Ziggy.
I'm an experienced user of the ZHAO, have been using it on this and my previous avatar. I love it, would be glad to help testing it!

hi Ziggy,

I never used the ZHAO I, so this was a new experiment. ;)
The ZHAO II was easy to configure (never done that before) and I especially like the HUD not being big at all. Everything works fine for me and it's much more easy than using chat commands. I like it very much. Thx for letting me test it. :)

I suspect Ziggy's looking for feedback that goes beyond "works great, thanks!"

i.e., any problems you may have had, any suggestions you may have for improvement, that sort of thing. :)

LOL... thanks Alexandra :) But even a simple 'works fine' is better than no feedback at all :)

I'd like to test it for you if you're still looking for testers... Inexperienced AO user, frustrated by wet ikon ao's that don't seem to work..
